At first we present social media and how their rapid growth has helped us to increase visitation. Then we introduce the basic methods that web developers use to increase traffic like social media optimization and others. Then we indicate the main technologies and a number of tools for web analytics that aim to analyze the performance of a website. We attempt to clarify to everyone why web analytics is necessary for any website and how practically web analytic and semantic web tools (Google analytics, bing webmasters or Zemanta) can record the performance of our website and help us so that it becomes better and easier to achieve the purpose for which we created the website in the first place. Also there is a practical implementation of some tools for the Valo blog site.el
