Λοιμώξεις νεογνού λόγω καθετήρων στις Μονάδες Εντατικής Θεραπείας (Bachelor thesis)

Hospital infections represent high percentages according to various studies in European and global level. Each part or unit of hospital is an entirely different environment for the function and the facts that have to confront. But, common component is the handling and nursing interventions should often follow specific conditions and procedures. More specifically, the evolution of caring for premature and high-risk neonates, science neonatologists and technological applications in the health sector has contributed significantly to the survival of premature babies and high risk newborns, which apart from prematurity, they may have to face other serious complications. Caring of newborn babies happens exclusively in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), a space that seems impassable because of technical equipment and strict hygiene rules.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι μέσα από την βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση να
αναδείξει τις διαδικασίες που πραγματοποιούνται στο χώρο της ΜΕΝΝ και κατά πόσο
συνδέονται με την παρουσία λοιμώξεων. Ειδικότερα οι διαδικασίες αυτές εστιάζουν στις
ενδείξεις, τον εξοπλισμό , τον τρόπο τοποθέτησης και τις επιπλοκές από τη χρήση των
καθετήρων. Μία από τις πιο σημαντικές επιπλοκές είναι και οι λοιμώξεις που συνδέονται με καθετήρες. Παρουσιάζεται λεπτομερώς η περιγραφή τους, τα μικρόβια που συνηθέστερα τις προκαλούν σε συνδυασμό με άλλους χειρισμούς. Επίσης αναλύονται τα κλινικά σημεία και συμπτώματα που σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις δεν είναι τόσο εμφανή, οι πιθανοί τρόποι διάγνωσης, η επιδημιολογία και η συνιστώμενη θεραπεία. Γίνεται κατανοητό μέσα από μελέτες ότι η τήρηση των κανόνων υγιεινής και της άσηπτης τεχνικής ως στρατηγικές μειώνουν σημαντικά την παρουσία αυτών των λοιμώξεων, καθώς γενικότερα και η τήρηση των κατευθυντηρίων οδηγιών για την τοποθέτηση, φροντίδα, διατήρηση και αφαίρεσή τους συνολικά. Η συμμόρφωση πρωτίστως των επαγγελματιών υγείας σε αυτούς του κανόνες αλλά και η συνεχή τους εκπαίδευση και επαγρύπνηση, μπορεί να βοηθήσει στη μείωση και ίσως στην πλήρη εξάλειψη τους.
