This paper, through a bibliographic review on the thematic subject of
bookbinding, intends to highlight its long-term course and its semiology - semantics
through the centuries. The aim of this paper is to create anindicative source of
knowledge both for the Greekstudent librarian and for the professional librarian, who
would like to have a concise but comprehensive perspective of the usual types of
bookbinding, which are mainly found in Greek libraries
