The present study entitled "Research on the preferences of visitors of a spa in Greece,
aiming at improving the services of Spa centers: Study of the operation of a natural
wellness center in Thermopylae", Greece, aims at studying the preferences of the
visitors of a spa, in order to optimize the quality of the services in the wellness centers,
as well as their overall image and service.
The methodological approach to achieving the above objective included conducting a
quantitative survey of a sample of 320 individuals. A prerequisite for participants in this
research was to have at least one experimental experience in a spa or in a natural
thermal spring.
The quantitative survey was carried out at the "Aqua Marine Spa" of the Petasos Resort
& SPA Hotel on Mykonos, Greece. During the summer period July - October 2017.
Through this study from our feedback of the 320 people we are researched whether it
would be successful to create a natural thermal SPA in the Thermopylae, Greece area.
For this reason a professional report is made on the qualitative characteristics of the
thermal spring water of Thermopylae, Greece, as well as on the general benefits of the
use of spa treatments and natural thermal springs.
The information extracted from the results of the survey concludes that visitors of
different nationalities, ages, economic strata and gender have basically shared
expectations of visiting the wellness centers and the services they offer in these places.
This also applies to their common interests in alternative forms of tourism, such as
wellness tourism and other activities included in their holiday program, such as sports,
massage, culture, and history. All of this is commented on and analyzed in the
corresponding chapters.
Conclusion, it is hopeful with the positive feedback of our 320 tourists that their interest
in taking part of a holiday including a spa visit in Thermopylae, Greece was positive

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα εργασία με τίτλο «Έρευνα των προτιμήσεων των επισκεπτών ενός Spa
της Ελλάδας, με σκοπό τη βελτίωση των υπηρεσιών των κέντρων ευεξίας Spa:
Μελέτη περίπτωσης λειτουργίας κέντρου φυσικής ευεξίας στις Θερμοπύλες», , έχει
ως αντικείμενο μελέτης τις προτιμήσεις των επισκεπτών ενός spa, με απώτερο σκοπό τη
βελτιστοποίηση της ποιότητας των υπηρεσιών στα κέντρα ευεξίας, καθώς επίσης και
της γενικότερης εικόνας και εξυπηρέτησης τους.
Η μεθοδολογική προσέγγιση για την επίτευξη του ανωτέρω στόχου, περιελάμβανε τη
διεξαγωγή ποσοτικής έρευνας σε δείγμα 320 ατόμων. Προαπαιτούμενο στοιχείο για
τους συμμετέχοντες στην έρευνα αυτή, ήταν να έχουν τουλάχιστον μια βιωματική
εμπειρία σε φυσική ιαματική πηγή ή σε ένα κέντρο ευεξίας – Spaspa.
Η διεξαγωγή της ποσοτικής έρευνας έλαβε χώρα στο κέντρο θαλασσοθεραπείας “Aqua
Marine Spa” της ξενοδοχειακής μονάδας “Petasos Resort & SPA” στη Μύκονο,
Ελλάδα, κατά την θερινή περίοδο Ιούλιο – Οκτώβριο 2017. Στην παρούσα έρευνα
μελετήθηκε επίσης η πιθανή περίπτωση λειτουργίας ενός κέντρου φυσικής ευεξίας στην
ιαματική πηγή των Θερμοπυλών Ελλάδας.
Για αυτό το λόγο γίνεται επίσης αναφορά για τα ποιοτικά χαρακτηριστικά του νερού
της ιαματικής πηγής των Θερμοπυλών, καθώς και για τα γενικότερα οφέλη της χρήσης
των θεραπειών Spaspa και των φυσικών ιαματικών πηγών.
Οι πληροφορίες οι οποίες εξήχθησαν από τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας, καταλήγουν
στο συμπέρασμα ότι οι επισκέπτες των διαφόρων εθνικοτήτων, ηλικιών, οικονομικών
στρωμάτων και φύλου, έχουν κατά βάση κοινές προσδοκίες από την επίσκεψή τους στα
κέντρα ευεξίας και τις υπηρεσίες που προσφέρονται μέσα στους χώρους αυτούς. Αυτό
συμβαίνει και όσον αφορά επίσης τα κοινά τους ενδιαφέροντα για τις εναλλακτικές
μορφές τουρισμού, όπως είναι ο ιαματικός τουρισμός και άλλες δραστηριότητες που
επιθυμούν να εμπλέκονται στις διακοπές τους, όπως τα αθλήματα, η μάλαξη και τα
στοιχεία πολιτισμού και ιστορίας. Όλα αυτά σχολιάζονται και αναλύονται στα
αντίστοιχα κεφάλαια.
Τέλος είναι σημαντικό να αναφερθεί ότι όσον αφορά τη μελέτη περίπτωσης για την
πιθανή λειτουργία ενός κέντρου ευεξίας –spa στη φυσική ιαματική πηγή των
