Pelvic floor dysfunction involves a great variety of symptoms. It is rather a spectrum
of disorders which occur mostly in older women. These disorders are associated with
various factors involved in the daily lives of women and their quality of life. Theirs
equelae often lead to a significant social and psychological burden for patients. The
aim of the present study was to evaluate a sample of women, regarding the incidence
of symptoms of pelvic floor disease, how these disorders relate to one another and
with the daily routine of women. The method used to carry out the study was the use
of questionnaires in a sample of 35 women. The questionnaires included questions
about urinary incontinence (ICIQ), genital prolapse (POP-SS), the sexual life of
women with incontinence and pro-disability (PISQ-12), and questions about their
quality of life and control (EQ-5D).The results of the questionnaires are presented in
diagrams in the second part of this thesis. Furthermore, demographic factors and
factors regarding women’s quality of life are presented, based on the questions and
the analysis results. In conclusion, most women in this sample did suffer from pelvic
floor dysfunction; however secondary factors seem to affect their quality of life.
