| heal.abstract | Ο επιπολασμός του σακχαρώδη διαβήτη (ΣΔ) προβλέπεται να αυξηθεί στις επόμενες δεκαετίες, τόσο την Ελλάδα όσο και σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, αυξάνοντας την ετήσια οικονομική και ψυχική επιβάρυνση που σχετίζεται με τη διαχείρισή του. Τελευταία δε, παρατηρείται αύξηση του ΣΔ ΙΙ και σε νεαρές σχετικά ηλικίες, κυρίως ως συνέπεια της αυξανόμενης παχυσαρκίας στους νέους. Η παρούσα παρεμβατική μελέτη πραγματοποιήθηκε σε 155 μαθητές 15-18 ετών (41,9% αγόρια, 49,0 κορίτσια, 9,% Missing) που φοιτούσαν στο 15ο Λύκειο Θεσσαλονίκης. Η αξιολόγηση του επιπέδου γνώσεων στο ΣΔ έγινε με την βοήθεια ερωτηματολογίου 52 ερωτήσεων, κατανεμημένων σε 7 πεδία (1η καταγραφή). Ωστόσο μόνο οι απαντήσεις στις 47 από αυτές λήφθηκαν υπόψη για τη διαμόρφωση του συνολικού σκορ. Αμέσως μετά την συμπλήρωση του ερωτηματολογίου δόθηκαν οι ορθές απαντήσεις και η όλη διαδικασία επαναλήφθηκε μετά από 2 εβδομάδες (2η καταγραφή). | el |
| heal.abstract | The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM), globally and in Greece as well, is expected to rise in the next few decades, increasing the burden and the costs of its management. An increasing trend in the prevalence of type 2 DM has been observed among the youths recently. Therefore, it is imperative to establish the level of their knowledge of DM and possibly find a way to increase it. An interventional study was conducted among 155 students (41.9% males, 49.0% females, 9.0% missing) ranged from 15 to 18 years of age, from a secondary public school in Thessaloniki, Greece. In order to assess their knowledge of DM, they were asked to complete a questionnaire (1st distribution), consisted of 52, questions organized in 7 sections. However, only 47 of the questions were taken into account for the calculation of the total score. Immediately after the completion of the questionnaire, the correct answers were revealed to the students and the survey was repeated two weeks after this small intervention (2nd distribution), looking for any significant changes of the students knowledge. | - |
