Οι κόκκινες σημαίες (RED FLAGS) στην οσφυαλγία (Bachelor thesis)

This thesis discusses the red flags in low back pain. The first step to fully conceive the red flags in low back pain is the understanding of physiotherapy assessment because, red flags arise from the patient’s history and the clinical examination. It’s proved by the contemporary literature that the majority of red flags in low back pain is related to pain. That is why this thesis includes a separate section for referred visceral pain at the lower back. In this case low back pain occurs from internal organs such as the small or large intestine, the kidneys, the bladder and the prostate. The last section of this thesis reviews every condition which is able to cause low back pain. According to the literature conditions related to cancer, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological, infectious and other general diseases are able to cause low back pain.

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία ασχολείται με τις κόκκινες σημαίες (red flags) που αφορούν στην περίπτωση της οσφυαλγίας. Το πρώτο και σημαντικότερο βήμα για να πραγματοποιηθεί η πλήρης αντίληψη των κόκκινων σημαιών είναι η κατανόηση της φυσικοθεραπευτικής αξιολόγησης, που συμβάλει στον εντοπισμό τους μέσα από τη λήψη του ιστορικού και την κλινική εξέταση. Αποδεικνύεται από τη βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση, ότι η πλειονότητα των κόκκινων σημαιών για την οσφυαλγία σχετίζεται με τη συμπεριφορά και την έκφραση του πόνου. Για αυτό το λόγο, γίνεται εκτενέστερη αναφορά στον αναφερόμενο πόνο σπλαχνικής προέλευσης στην περιοχή της οσφύος, καθώς σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις η οσφυαλγία προκύπτει από παθήσεις που εδράζουν εκτός του μυοσκελετικού συστήματος και έχουν προσβάλει ορισμένα εσωτερικά όργανα, Σε αυτήν την περίπτωση, ο αναφερόμενος πόνος στην οσφύ προέρχεται από το λεπτό και το παχύ έντερο, τους νεφρούς, την ουροδόχο κύστη και τον προστάτη. Στο τελευταίο μέρος της εργασίας, παρουσιάζεται το σύνολο των παθήσεων στις οποίες υπάρχει πιθανότητα να εμφανιστεί ως σύμπτωμα η οσφυαλγία. Σύμφωνα με τη βιβλιογραφία οι καταστάσεις που σχετίζονται με τον καρκίνο, καθώς και οι καρδιαγγειακές, οι γαστρεντερικές, οι ουρολογικές, οι γυναικολογικές, οι μολυσματικές και άλλες γενικές παθήσεις, είναι πιθανόν να προκαλέσουν οσφυαλγία.
