The aim of this paper is to investigate consumers’ views on nutritional labels, as well as to draw conclusions about the latter’s validity and their effect on consumers’ habits. The survey is comprised of 1200 questionnaires, each consisting of 33 open and closed-ended questions. Participants were both male and female, between the ages of 18 and 60. The statistical analysis of the questionnaires gathered include the collection of the questionnaires, the recording of the total information included in the appropriate Microsoft Office Excel 7 software packages and the statistical packet SPSS 20- Static Package for Social Sciences Software Version 20 for Windows, graphs, the use of descriptive statistics to analyze the results, and finally the formulation of useful conclusions by way of the appropriate statistical checks

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η διερεύνηση των απόψεων των καταναλωτών σχετικά με τη διατροφική ετικέτα, καθώς και η διεξαγωγή συμπερασμάτων αναφορικά με την επίδραση που ασκεί η διατροφική ετικέτα και οι ισχυρισμοί της. Η διεξαγωγή της έρευνας περιλάμβανε την συλλογή 1200 ερωτηματολογίων , τα οποία περιελάμβαναν 33 ερωτήσεις, κλειστού και ανοιχτού τύπου. Συμμετείχαν άνδρες και γυναίκες , διαφόρων ηλικιακών ομάδων, μεταξύ 18 έως 60 ετών και άνω. Η στατιστική ανάλυση των ερωτηματολογίων που συγκεντρώθηκαν περιελάμβανε τη συλλογή των ερωτηματολογίων, την καταχώρηση των συνολικών πληροφοριών που συμπεριλήφθησαν σε κατάλληλα λογισμικά πακέτα Microsoft Office Excel 7 και το στατιστικό πακέτο SPSS 20 -Statistical Package for Social Sciences Software Version 20 for Windows, γραφικές παραστάσεις, περιγραφική στατιστική των αποτελεσμάτων, και τέλος την εξαγωγή χρήσιμων συμπερασμάτων μέσω της διενέργειας ενός κατάλληλου στατιστικού ελέγχου.
