This diploma thesis contains the strategic planning of development of specific forms of tourism on the Regional Unity of Pieria. First of all, its aim is toexaminethetheoreticalframeworkofstrategicplanning,then the specific forms of tourism. As wellastoexploreandanalyzethetourismofPieria and its SWOT analysis, especially in the SIT. Also to designastrategicdevelopment plan and come up to useful conclusions and recommendations. The first chapter presents the basic concepts of strategic planning, notions and definitions, with reference to the literature and documentation. The second chapter continues with the presentation of the theoretical approaches regarding tourism and its development, the forms and typesofspecialandalternative forms of tourism. The third chapter contains an analytical approach to the existing development of tourist destination in Pieria,detailinggeographic,social,economicandenvironmental data. In addition to analyze the statistical data of the tourist activity, highlighting the large number of visitors and the measurements of seasonality within the arrivals and in tourism accommodation mainly in the coastal zone. Here is the citation of the crucial tourism resources of the IP creating the impression of possibilities in developing specific forms of tourism, which mainly shows the development of mass tourism. To continue with the SWOT analysis of the specific forms of tourism in the area, so as to show the comparative advantages of Pieria. The next chapter presents the Proposal for Development of the Strategic Plan for the development of specific forms of tourism with concrete proposals and actions for tourism development. The key strategy is to protect and enhance the tourist resources of Pieria, to exploit them and preserve the environment. Also to develop specific forms of tourism in the rural areas making it an attractive tourist destination. Pieria is a mass tourism destination, making baby steps in alternative tourism, but has great potential and prospects, and throughtheproposedprojectemphasisisplacedonthedevelopmentof special forms of tourism that can revitalize the destination and make it attractive.

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία περιέχει τον Στρατηγικό Σχεδιασμό Ανάπτυξης Ειδικών Μορφών Τουρισμού της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Πιερίας. Στόχος της είναι κατ' αρχήν η ανάλυση του θεωρητικού πλαισίου του στρατηγικού σχεδιασμού, στη συνέχεια η ανάλυση του θεωρητικού πλαισίου τωνειδικώνμορφών τουρισμού, η διερεύνηση και ανάλυση του Πιερικού τουρισμού και η SWOT ανάλυση του και ειδικά των ΕΜΤ, και στη συνέχεια η σχεδίαση του στρατηγικού σχεδίου ανάπτυξης για να καταλήξει σε χρήσιμα συμπεράσματα και προτάσεις. Το πρώτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει τις βασικές έννοιες που αφορούν τον στρατηγικό σχεδιασμό, τις έννοιες και ορισμούς ανατρέχοντας στη σχετική βιβλιογραφία. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο ακολουθεί η παρουσίαση των θεωρητικών προσεγγίσεων που αφορούν τον τουρισμό, την ανάπτυξή του τις μορφές και τα είδη των ειδικών και εναλλακτικών μορφών τουρισμού. Το τρίτο κεφάλαιο περιέχει μια αναλυτική προσέγγιση της υφιστάμενης ανάπτυξης του τουριστικού προορισμού Πιερία, παραθέτοντας αναλυτικά τα γεωγραφικά,κοινωνικά, οικονομικά και περιβαλλοντικά στοιχεία κατ' αρχήν και στη συνέχεια αναλύονται διεξοδικά τα στατιστικά δεδομένα της τουριστικής δραστηριότητας αναδεικνύοντας κυρίως το μεγάλο αριθμό επισκεπτών και την εποχικότητα των αφίξεων, το πλήθος των καταλυμάτων κυρίως στην παράλια ζώνη. Ακολουθεί η παράθεση των σημαντικότερων τουριστικών πόρων της ΠΕ που δημιουργούν την εντύπωση δυνατοτήτων ανάπτυξης ειδικών μορφών τουρισμού αλλά κυρίως δείχνουν την ανάπτυξη του μαζικού τουρισμού. Ακολουθεί η SWOT ανάλυση των ειδικών μορφών τουρισμού της περιοχής για να εμφανιστούν τα συγκριτικά πλεονεκτήματα της περιοχής. Στο επόμενο κεφάλαιο διαμορφώνεται η Πρόταση για Ανάπτυξη του Στρατηγικού Σχεδίου Ανάπτυξης ειδικών μορφών τουρισμού με συγκεκριμένες προτάσεις και δράσεις τουριστικής ανάπτυξης. Βασική στρατηγική είναι η προστασία και ανάδειξη των τουριστικών πόρων της Πιερίας, η αξιοποίηση των πόρων και η διαφύλαξη του περιβάλλοντος, και η ανάπτυξη ειδικών μορφών τουρισμού στην ενδοχώρα ώστε να αναδειχθεί αυτή σε ελκυστικό τουριστικό προορισμό. Η Πιερία είναι τόπος μαζικού τουρισμού, κάνει δειλά βήματα για εναλλακτικό τουρισμό, έχει όμως μεγάλες δυνατότητες και προοπτικές και μέσα από το προτεινόμενο σχέδιο δίνεται έμφαση στην ανάπτυξη ειδικών μορφών τουρισμού που μπορούν να αναζωογονήσουν τον προορισμό και να τον κάνουν ελκυστικό. Τέλος τα συμπεράσματα δείχνουν την μακροπρόθεσμη προοπτική και την αναγκαιότητα εφαρμογής των προτάσεων του στρατηγικού σχεδίου.
