The current study records the views of Primary Education teachers of Thesprotia regarding the institutional framework pertaining to the selection of school principals pursuant to law 4473/2017. Based on the existing literature, the study reveals the teachers attitudes towards the principals’ selection criteria and the credits (points) they get. Results analysis shows that most teachers find the scientific - pedagogical proficiency and managerial experience criteria to be fairly objective. They are skeptical however, about the reinstatement of the interview that awards no less than 8 points (credits). They also argue that the procedures followed in staffing the selection committees are manipulated by ministry officials. According to the findings, the selection system could be improved with measurable criteria integrated into the existing procedure such as passing a personality test, the introduction of written examinations (ASEP) in educational units management issues, the replacement of all committee members conducting the interview with independent ones without any political attachments.
The research work used the quantitative approach method and a questionnaire used as a measuring tool, was handed out and completed by 76 primary education teachers of Thesprotia. The processing and analysis of the results were performed using the SPPS STATISTICS 23.0statistical program

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης αποτέλεσε η καταγραφή των απόψεων των εκπαιδευτικών της Πρωτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης του νομού Θεσπρωτίας αναφορικά με το θεσμικό πλαίσιο επιλογής των διευθυντών των σχολικών μονάδων, σύμφωνα με τον νόμο 4473/2017. Ειδικότερα, επιχειρήθηκε, βάσει σχετικής βιβλιογραφίας, η διερεύνηση των πεποιθήσεων των εκπαιδευτικών αναφορικά με τα κριτήρια επιλογής και μοριοδότησής τους, ως προς την ανάληψη της θέσης, και των καθηκόντων που αυτή συνεπάγεται, του διευθυντή σχολικής μονάδας. H ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων κατέδειξε ότι οι ερωτηθέντες εκπαιδευτικοί αποδέχονται τη μοριοδότηση όπως θεσπίστηκε για τα κριτήρια της επιστημονικής/παιδαγωγικής συγκρότησης, υπηρεσιακής κατάστασης και διοικητικής εμπειρίας, θεωρώντας την σε γενικές γραμμές αντικειμενική, ενώ εμφανίζονται αφενός επιφυλακτικοί όσον αφορά στην επαναφορά της συνέντευξης στο σημείο της αυξημένης μοριοδότησης των 8 μονάδων και αφετέρου αντίθετοι σχετικά με τη διαδικασία στελέχωσης των συμβουλίων επιλογής. Από τα πορίσματα της έρευνας προκύπτει η δυνατότητα βελτίωσης του συστήματος επιλογής, υπό την προϋπόθεση ότι θα ενσωματωθούν στην υφιστάμενη διαδικασία μετρήσιμα κριτήρια, όπως, επί παραδείγματι, η επιτυχία σε τεστ προσωπικότητας, η εισαγωγή γραπτών εξετάσεων (Α.Σ.Ε.Π) σε θέματα διοίκησης εκπαιδευτικών μονάδων και η αντικατάσταση των μελών των ΠΥΣΠΕ που διενεργούν τη συνέντευξη, με ανεξάρτητους αξιολογητές απαλλαγμένους από πολιτικές σκοπιμότητες. Για την υλοποίηση της ερευνητικής εργασίας ακολουθήθηκε η μέθοδος της ποσοτικής ανάλυσης και χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως εργαλείο μέτρησης το ερωτηματολόγιο.
