The knee joint is the most important joint of the lower limb, as well as the biggest, most complicated, as well as function is concerned, joint of the human body.
The subject this thesis is the rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The goal of this thesis is the best possible review of international bibliography and articlesaround this musculoskeletal injury faced mostly by athletes and providing as much data as possible about the injury of the knee joint.
To start with there are some information about the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint with the goal of better understanding the way the knee joint and the functional issues that arise from this injury.
Continuing from there, there is a pathophysiological description, epidemiology, evaluation and the clinical symptoms of the injury, while also giving mentioning some ways of diagnosing this injury through medical imaging.
A lot of importance is also given the way physiotherapists treat patients, which is a crucial part of the rehabilitation of theanterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint.
