The illustration of children's books, plays a role in reading. Acclaimed artists actively contributed to the prosperity and diversity of images that dominate in a children's book. There are many kinds of children's illustrated book. For example the picture book and illustrated book. We note that the authors and illustrators raised in a successful way their artistic skills. It is crucial the existence of images within a book. How, moreover, in a children's book there's interdependent relationship between text and image (visual and verbal modality).

| Abstract: | Η εικονογράφηση των παιδικών βιβλίων διαδραματίζει σημαίνοντα ρόλο στην ανάγνωση των. Καταξιωμένοι καλλιτέχνες συνέβαλαν δραστικά, στην ευημερία και ποικιλομορφία των εικόνων που κυριαρχούν σε ένα παιδικό βιβλίο. Υφίστανται πολλά είδη παιδικού εικονογραφημένου βιβλίου. Παραδείγματος χάριν το εικονοβιβλίο και το βιβλίο με εικόνες. Διαπιστώνουμε πως οι συγγραφείς αλλά και οι εικονογράφοι προέβαλαν με επιτυχή τρόπο τις καλλιτεχνικές τους δεξιότητες. Είναι υψίστης σημασίας η ύπαρξη εικόνων μέσα σε ένα βιβλίο. Πόσο άλλωστε σε ένα παιδικό βιβλίο. Υπάρχει αλληλένδετη σχέση ανάμεσα σε κείμενο και εικόνα (οπτική και λεκτική τροπικότητα).
