heal.abstract | Wireless Sensor Networks are a promising field of research in wireless communications. As a matter of fact the standard of IEEE 802.15.4 was created in the context of communication protocols standardization for Wireless Sensor Networks. Initially, in this thesis, a detailed presentation of the IEEE 802.15.4 standard is carried out, which focuses on the Physical Layer, the MAC sub-layer and the frame structure. Furthermore, references are made to the 6LoWPAN, WirelessHart and Wibree specifications, which are based on the above transmission standard. Following, the thesis focuses on modifications of the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, making an extensive reference to 802.15.4a / b / c / q / r / s standards. More specifically, there is a detailed recording and classification, as well as, a study of documents of the IEEE, which contains proposals for the developing technologies. Thus, the reason of the creation of each modification becomes obvious, in a scientific but equally understandable way. | en |
