• Background: Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory, autoimmune, demyelinated disease of the central nervous system. It is the most discussed disease after cancer and heart attack as more and more people are affected every day. The mystery around the disease ( still unknown cause and without predictable evolution) makes it more interesting for scientists to study. The physiotherapy assessment is a parameter of the total intervention which will determine the treatment. • Objective: This project aims at presenting all the parameters which a physiotherapist must have in mind when he has a patient with multiple sclerosis. • Design: In the first part, we refer to multiple sclerosis and present the physical, anatomic and the clinical image of the disease. Secondly, we analyze all the tools of assessment and methods which must use a physiotherapist to each organic part. Thirdly, the report is completed by 30 circumstantial researches which prove the reliability of the assessment tools. In the fourth part, the project is full-filled presenting two individualized incidents. • Conclusion : The use of tools, methods and questionnaires can contribute to the objective, reliable and well-documented assessment of disease, such as multiple sclerosis, so the physiotherapist will secure the effectiveness of the treatment.
