Οι επιδράσεις της ιπποθεραπείας και της θεραπευτικής ιππασίας στην αποκατάσταση των κινητικών ελλειμμάτων σε παιδιά με εγκεφαλική παράλυση (Bachelor thesis)

• BACKGROUND: Cerebral palsy is ‘‘a non-evolutionary but not unchanged movement or/and situation disorder due to an attack or disorder of immature brain’’. It is one of the most frequent congenital or acquired problem related to the child’s brain and can be expressed in motor or/and perceptual deficit. People with cerebral palsy are using more and more frequently hippotherapy and horseback riding therapy in their rehabilitation program. Hippotherapy which is ‘‘the therapy with the help of the horse’’ refers to use of the movement of the horse as a therapeutic tool for improving neuromuscular function.
• OBJECTIVE: The present study aims to determine the effect of hippotherapy and therapeutic riding to children suffering from cerebral palsy.
• DESIGN: Part A’ refers to cerebral palsy and presents the etiology of the disease, the diagnosis, the forms of cerebral palsy and also the additional impairments. Consequently, part B’ deals with the method of hippotherapy as well as the approach Hippo Kinesio-Educational Rehabilitation (Hi.K.E.R),which refers to a holistic approach to therapeutic riding and is based on neuroplasticity of the brain. Afterward, described and presented the role of treated according to the approach Hi.K.E.R., the handles of therapists, the positions on the horse, the horse march of the riding arena, further to, the characteristics of the therapeutic horses and training of horses in therapeutic riding. Finally, the horse therapeutic intervention in various forms of cerebral palsy is specified. In the third part, all the reference complemented by 44 detailed studies in order to establish the efficacy of hippotherapy. The fourth part of the thesis concludes with the presentation of two personalized incidents.
• CONLUSION: Hippotherapy and therapeutic riding can be used for the rehabilitation of motor deficits of children suffering from cerebral palsy, showing clear results, however on the enhancement of efficiency should be used in conjunction with physical therapy.

| Abstract: | • ΥΠΟΒΑΘΡΟ: Η Εγκεφαλική Παράλυση είναι ‘‘μια μη εξελικτική αλλά όχι αμετάβλητη διαταραχή της κίνησης ή/και της στάσης, λόγω μιας προσβολής ή διαταραχής του ανώριμου εγκεφάλου’’. Είναι ένα από τα συχνότερα συγγενή ή επίκτητα νευρολογικά προβλήματα που αφορά τον εγκέφαλο του παιδιού και μπορεί να εκφραστεί με κινητικό ή/και διανοητικό έλλειμμα. Τα άτομα με Εγκεφαλική Παράλυση εντάσσουν όλο και συχνότερα στο πρόγραμμα αποκατάστασής τους την ιπποθεραπεία και την θεραπευτική ιππασία. Η ιπποθεραπεία δηλαδή η ‘‘θεραπεία με τη βοήθεια του αλόγου’’ αναφέρεται στη χρήση της κίνησης του αλόγου ως θεραπευτικό εργαλείο για τη βελτίωση της νευρομυϊκής λειτουργίας.
• ΣΚΟΠΟΣ: Η παρούσα εργασία έχει ως στόχο να καθορίσει την επίδραση της ιπποθεραπείας και της θεραπευτικής ιππασίας σε παιδιά που πάσχουν από Εγκεφαλική Παράλυση.
• ΣΧΕΔΙΑΣΜΟΣ: Στο Α’ Μέρος γίνεται αναφορά στην Εγκεφαλική Παράλυση και παρουσιάζονται η αιτιολογία της πάθησης, η διάγνωση, οι μορφές της Εγκεφαλικής Παράλυσης καθώς και οι συνοδές διαταραχές της. Στη συνέχεια, στο Β’ Μέρος αναλύεται η μέθοδος της ιπποθεραπείας καθώς και η προσέγγιση Hippo Kinesio-Educational Rehabilitation (Hi.K.E.R) ,η οποία αναφέρεται σε μια ολιστική προσέγγιση της θεραπευτικής ιππασίας και στηρίζεται στη νευροπλαστικότητα του εγκεφάλου. Έπειτα, περιγράφονται και παρουσιάζονται οι ρόλοι των θεραπευτών σύμφωνα με την προσέγγιση Hi.K.E.R. , οι λαβές των θεραπευτών, οι θέσεις πάνω στο άλογο, η πορεία του αλόγου μέσα στον ιππικό στίβο καθώς επίσης και τα χαρακτηριστικά των αλόγων- θεραπευτών και η εκπαίδευση των αλόγων στη θεραπευτική ιππασία. Τέλος, διευκρινίζεται η ιπποθεραπευτική παρέμβαση στις διάφορες μορφές της Εγκεφαλικής Παράλυσης. Στο Γ’ Μέρος η όλη αναφορά συμπληρώνεται από 44 εμπεριστατωμένες έρευνες που αποδεικνύουν την αποτελεσματικότητα της ιπποθεραπείας. Στο Δ’ Μέρος η εργασία ολοκληρώνεται με την παρουσίαση δύο εξατομικευμένων περιστατικών.
• ΣΥΜΠΕΡΑΣΜΑΤΑ: Η ιπποθεραπεία και η θεραπευτική ιππασία μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για την αποκατάσταση των κινητικών ελλειμμάτων των παιδιών που πάσχουν από Εγκεφαλική Παράλυση με φανερά αποτελέσματα, ωστόσο για την ενίσχυση της αποτελεσματικότητας της ιπποθεραπείας θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιείται σε συνδυασμό με τη φυσικοθεραπεία. • BACKGROUND: Cerebral palsy is ‘‘a non-evolutionary but not unchanged movement or/and situation disorder due to an attack or disorder of immature brain’’.
