Health related quality of life refers to the well-being which is interpreted as the combination of objective and subjective factors in the individual’s life. The contribution of psychology , economy, and sociology were significant in its definition, considering it as a multi-dimensional phenomenon. Multiple theorems have been suggested ,some of which are targeting the psychological factors, whereas others target the social-culture ones Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is the comparison of quality of life among patients with cancer and diabetes mellitus type 2 under chemotherapy and patients with cancer under chemotherapy in general hospital Papageorgiou. It will also investigate the effect of some demographic and clinical characteristics in quality of life. Methodology: In this thesis, it was made a comparison of quality of life among patients with cancer and diabetes mellitus type 2 under chemotherapy and patients with cancer under chemotherapy in general hospital Papageorgiou. The method used to analyze the data, was quantitative statistical analysis and the data was collected using closed-end questionnaires. Results: The results showed that the factors that affect patients of this investigation is the general state of health, their educational level, the monthly income, the previous treatment, the level of glycosylated hemoglobin, their treatment, the years of diagnosis with diabetes, the marital status, the degree of malignancy and finally, their treatment. Conclusions: These patients require a more personalized and holistic care. The present study aims to present the appropriate therapeutic interventions to improve the quality of life but also to highlight the key determinants of healthrelated quality of life. .

| Abstract: | Η σχετιζόμενη με την υγεία ποιότητα ζωής αναφέρεται στην ευεξία, η οποία προσλαμβάνεται ως ο συνδυασμός των αντικειμενικών και υποκειμενικών παραγόντων της ζωής ενός ατόμου. Η συμβολή της ψυχολογίας, της οικονομίας και της κοινωνιολογίας συνέβαλλαν σημαντικά στον εννοιολογικό προσδιορισμό της, θεωρώντας ότι πρόκειται για ένα πολυδιάστατο φαινόμενο. Διάφορα θεωρήματα έχουν προταθεί, από τα οποία ορισμένα επικεντρώνονται περισσότερο στους ψυχολογικούς, ενώ άλλα στους κοινωνικοπολιτιστικούς παράγοντες . Σκοπός : Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η συγκριτική διερεύνηση της σχετιζόμενης με την υγεία ποιότητα ζωής των ασθενών με Σακχαρώδη Διαβήτη τύπου II και καρκίνο και υποβάλλονται σε χημειοθεραπεία, καθώς και των ασθενών που δεν πάσχουν από την συγκεκριμένη ασθένεια, αλλά υποβάλλονται σε χημειοθεραπεία. Επίσης θα διερευνηθεί η επίδραση δημογραφικών και κάποιων κλινικών χαρακτηριστικών στην ποιότητα ζωής. Υλικό –μέθοδος : Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία πραγματοποιήθηκε η συγκριτική διερεύνηση της σχετιζόμενης με την υγεία ποιότητα ζωής των ασθενών με Σακχαρώδη Διαβήτη τύπου II και καρκίνο και υποβάλλονται σε χημειοθεραπεία, καθώς και των ασθενών που δεν πάσχουν από την συγκεκριμένη ασθένεια, αλλά υποβάλλονται σε χημειοθεραπεία. Η μέθοδος που ακολουθήθηκε για την συλλογή των δεδομένων ήταν ποσοτική στατιστική ανάλυση, και τα δεδομένα συλλέχτηκαν με την βοήθεια ερωτηματολογίου κλειστών ερωτήσεων. Αποτελέσματα : Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι οι παράγοντες, που επηρεάζουν τους ασθενείς της παρούσας έρευνας, είναι η γενικότερη κατάσταση της υγείας τους, το εκπαιδευτικό τους επίπεδο, το μηναίο εισόδημά τους, η προηγηθείσα θεραπεία, το επίπεδο γλυκοζυλιωμένης αιμοσφαιρίνης, η θεραπευτική τους αγωγή, τα έτη διάγνωσης με διαβήτη, η οικογενειακή κατάσταση, ο βαθμός κακοήθειας και τέλος, η θεραπευτική τους αγωγή. 6 Συμπεράσματα : Καθότι οι συγκεκριμένοι ασθενείς απαιτούν μια περισσότερο εξατομικευμένη και ολιστική φροντίδα., η παρούσα έρευνα φιλοδοξεί να παρουσιάσει τις κατάλληλες θεραπευτικές παρεμβάσεις για τη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής αλλά και να αναδείξει τους βασικούς προσδιοριστικούς παράγοντες της Σχετιζόμενης με την Υγεία Ποιότητα Ζωής .
