This thesis entales the presentation of reflexology, an alternative form of therapy. The clarification of the definition “reflexology”, the purpose and its origin will be also included. Moreover, its evolution through history will be presented, as well as how it was spread to the world and how it concluded to its current form.
There is a review of the reflex points at hands and feet of the human body and where every reflex point is equivalent to. There is, also, a reference to reflexology techniques, what a complete session of reflexology includes, how the room and the patient have to be prepared and what issues can a reflexologist run into before and after the session.
Furthermore, every body system combined to every reflex point and diseases that a reflexologist can come up against is being presented. Finally, there are results of various researches included, which show the benefits of reflexology to human health and there are also recommendations of how reflexology can be used from an aesthetician.

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα εργασία περιλαμβάνει την παρουσίαση του αντικειμένου της ρεφλεξολογίας. Γίνεται αναφορά στον ορισμό της και τον σκοπό της, από που προέρχεται και πως αναπτύχθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια των αιώνων, ποιοι τη διέδωσαν, αλλά και πως έφτασε στην σημερινή μορφή της. Παρουσιάζονται τα οφέλη της στην υγεία του ανθρώπου και το πότε είναι κατάλληλη η εφαρμογή της ή όχι.
Γίνεται ανάλυση των άκρων και των σημείων που αντιστοιχούν σε κάθε μέρος του σώματος και των τεχνικών που χρησιμοποιούνται, όπως ακόμα, και τι περιλαμβάνει μια ολοκληρωμένη συνεδρία ρεφλεξολογίας, πως πρέπει να είναι διαμορφωμένος ο χώρος, η προετοιμασία του ασθενή, αλλά και του ρεφλεξολόγου και τι προβλήματα μπορεί να συναντήσει ο ρεφλεξολόγος πριν και μετά τη συνεδρία.
Ακόμα, παρουσιάζονται τα διάφορα συστήματα του οργανισμού σε συνδυασμό με τα σημεία της ρεφλεξολογίας και τις παθήσεις που μπορεί να συναντήσει ο ρεφλεξολόγος. Τέλος, γίνεται αναφορά σε διάφορες έρευνες που έχουν διεξαχθεί τα τελευταία χρόνια για τα οφέλη που έχει ρεφλεξολογία στην υγεία του ανθρώπου και προτάσεις για το πως θα μπορούσε να φανεί χρήσιμη σε συνδυασμό με το κομμάτι της Αισθητικής.
