Ιαματικά λουτρά και δερματοπάθειες (Bachelor thesis)

Taking into consideration that thermal baths seem to be a subject that keens the interest of the general public, we adduce the below final-year dissertation titled as Thermal Baths and Skin Diseases, in order to be aware of the spa history and their beneficial effect on skin diseases.
To begin with, we will refer to the historical data of thermal baths, since antiquity to modern Greece. Then, we will delve into the meaning, the derivation and the component of hot springs, the properties of water and the various areas that they are located in. Moreover, we will mention the definition and the main forms of hydrotherapy, and the resulting therapeutic properties of thermal waters. Additionally, we will analyse the skin, the skin layers and the cutaneous absorption.
Finally, one of the main chapters is the one which is referred to the skin diseases. In this chapter, skin diseases, which are indicated for the treatment of them by using hot springs, are mentioned, as the beneficial effects of trace minerals and ways of their entry into the skin.

| Abstract: | Τα ιαματικά λουτρά είναι ένα θέμα που φαίνεται να απασχολεί ιδιαίτερα το ευρύ κοινό. Λαμβάνοντας υπόψιν το ενδιαφέρον αυτό, παραθέτουμε την παρακάτω πτυχιακή εργασία με τίτλο «Ιαματικά Λουτρά και Δερματοπάθειες», με σκοπό να γνωρίσουμε την ιστορία των ιαματικών πηγών, δίνοντας έμφαση στις παθήσεις του δέρματος.
Αρχικά θα μελετήσουμε τα ιστορικά στοιχεία των ιαματικών λουτρών, από την αρχαιότητα μέχρι και την νεότερη Ελλάδα. Στη συνέχεια, θα δούμε την έννοια, την προέλευση και τα συστατικά των ιαματικών λουτρών, τις ιδιότητες του νερού και τις διάφορες περιοχές που βρίσκονται οι ιαματικές πηγές. Ακόμα, θα αναφερθούμε στον ορισμό της υδροθεραπείας, στις κυριότερες μορφές της και στο που οφείλονται οι θεραπευτικές ιδιότητες των ιαματικών νερών. Επιπλέον, θα αναλύσουμε το δέρμα και τις στοιβάδες του, καθώς και την δερματική απορρόφηση.
Τέλος, ένα από τα κυριότερα κεφάλαια είναι αυτό των δερματοπαθειών. Στο κεφάλαιο αυτό έχουμε καταγράψει τις παθήσεις του δέρματος που ενδείκνυνται στη χρήση των ιαματικών πηγών, την ευεργετική δράση των ιχνοστοιχείων και τους τρόπους εισόδων τους από το δέρμα.
