| heal.abstract | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία παρουσιάζει μια διαδικτυακή εφαρμογή ιστού, η οποία παρέχει στο χρήστη τη δυνατότητα διεξαγωγής στατιστικών ερευνών. Ο ερευνητής, αφού έχει αποφασίσει μέσω των επιστημονικών μεθόδων της Στατιστικής, τον πληθυσμό και τα χαρακτηριστικά αυτού που θέλει να μελετήσει, μπορεί να χρησιμοποιήσει την εφαρμογή ως εργαλείο υποστήριξης για τα υπόλοιπα στάδια της έρευνας. Αρχικά, ο χρήστης έχει τη δυνατότητα να σχεδιάσει ένα online ερωτηματολόγιο και να το αποστείλει σε όσους ανήκουν στο δείγμα. Στη συνέχεια, η εφαρμογή αναλαμβάνει τις διαδικασίες συλλογής, αποθήκευσης και επεξεργασίας των εισερχόμενων δεδομένων. Ο χρήστης μπορεί, ανά πάσα στιγμή, να ανακτήσει το σύνολο των απαντήσεων, να μελετήσει τις εκθέσεις με τα αποτελέσματα της ανάλυσης τους και να εξάγει συμπεράσματα σχετικά με τις αρχικές υποθέσεις της έρευνας. Η εφαρμογή είναι δομημένη στη δημοφιλή γλώσσα προγραμματισμού PHP, ενώ τα δεδομένα αποθηκεύονται στη σχεσιακή βάση δεδομένων MySQL. Ο σχεδιασμός της διεπαφής βασίστηκε στο Bootstrap framework. Για τα διαγράμματα χρησιμοποιήθηκε η υπηρεσία Google Charts. Στο θεωρητικό κομμάτι της εργασίας, αρχικά παρατίθενται οι βασικές έννοιες της περιγραφικής στατιστικής, με τις οποίες πρέπει κάποιος που θα χρησιμοποιήσει την εφαρμογή να είναι εξοικειωμένος. Κατόπιν, ακολουθούν δύο κεφάλαια που αναφέρονται στις τεχνολογίες, στις γλώσσες και στα εργαλεία που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την ανάπτυξη του συστήματος διαχείρισης και το σχεδιασμό του γραφικού περιβάλλοντος της εφαρμογής. | heal.abstract | The aim of the present thesis is to showcase an online web application which provides the researcher with the capability to conduct statistical surveys. Once the researcher has decided on the population and the characteristics of the topic under investigation, through statistical scientific methods, he can use the suggested application as a supporting tool for the implementation of the remaining key stages. First, the researcher has the possibility to design an online questionnaire and send it to the sample members. Subsequently, the application undertakes the procedures of collecting, storing and processing incoming data. Thus, the investigator is given the opportunity to collect all the responses, regardless of the time they were given and therefore, to further study the reports with their analysis results and finally draw conclusions about the initial assumptions of the research. The application has been developed using the popular programming language PHP, while the data have being stored in the relational data base MySQL. The design of the user interface was based on Bootstrap Framework. The Google Charts service was also used for the production of the diagrams and plots. In the first chapter of the present thesis we review the fundamental concepts of Descriptive Statistics, which the researcher must be familiarized with. The following two chapters present the technological methods, the programming languages and the tools used for the development of the management system as well as the application's graphical user interface design.
