Investment Firms are an important part of the financial system. For this reason, the regulatory framework in which they operate is important to clarify with every detail the duties and obligations that they must observe in order to obtain the necessary certificates from the Securities and Exchange Commission. Currently, 53 AEPEYs operate in Greece and have a certificate of operation from the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. For 43 of them, it should be noted that they generally show a fairly good picture, although they appear to be experiencing a profitability problem, with nearly 50% of them showing post-tax losses. However, their turnover exceeds 120 million euros, which shows the tendency for further growth of the sector, especially after the period following the protracted economic crisis of the Greek economy.

| Abstract: | Οι Ανώνυμες Εταιρίες Παροχής Επενδυτικών Υπηρεσιών αποτελούν έναν σημαντικό κρίκο του χρηματοοικονομικού συστήματος. Για τον λόγο αυτό, το ρυθμιστικό πλαίσιο μέσα στο οποίο αυτές δραστηριοποιούνται είναι τέτοιο, ώστε να διασαφηνίζει με την παραμικρή λεπτομέρεια τα καθήκοντα και τις υποχρεώσεις που αυτές πρέπει να τηρούν, προκειμένου να λαμβάνουν τα απαραίτητα πιστοποιητικά από την Επιτροπή Κεφαλαιαγοράς. Στην Ελλάδα σήμερα δραστηριοποιούνται 53 ΑΕΠΕΥ, οι οποίες διαθέτουν πιστοποιητικό λειτουργίας από την Ελληνική Επιτροπή Κεφαλαιαγοράς. Για τις 43 από αυτές που βρέθηκαν στοιχεία, θα πρέπει να σημειωθεί ότι σε γενικές γραμμές δείχνουν μια εικόνα σχετικά καλή, αν και φαίνεται ότι αντιμετωπίζουν ένα πρόβλημα κερδοφορίας, καθώς σχεδόν το 50% από αυτές παρουσιάζουν ζημιές μετά τους φόρους. Ωστόσο, το ύψος του τζίρου τους ξεπερνά τα 120 εκατομμύρια ευρώ, γεγονός που δείχνει την τάση περαιτέρω ανάπτυξης του κλάδου, ειδικά μετά την περίοδο που ακολουθεί την παρατεταμένη οικονομική κρίση της ελληνικής οικονομίας.
