This paper is an effort to analyze the issue of Greek language teaching in
minority groups (Pomaks) in Greece. The research that was conducted focuses on the
instruction of the Greek language at the last class of public primary minority schools
where Pomak pupils are attending. The language textbook that students use during the
course is at the centre of this dissertation.
At the first part, there is a presentation of the existing literature for the terms
used and on school books for language education for minority groups in Greece and in
several countries in Europe as well. At the second part, there is a presentation of the
research that was conducted and it is focused on students’ views on the textbook that
they are using for the course of Greek language. The results of the research aim at the
critical thinking of the role and the effectiveness of the textbook for language learning
purposes. Finally, there is an overview and evaluation of the content and the structure
of the book

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα εργασία αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια προσέγγισης του ζητήματος της
διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής γλώσσας στα Μειονοτικά σχολεία και ειδικότερα στους
Πομάκους. Η έρευνα εστιάζει στη διδασκαλία της ελληνικής ως δεύτερη γλώσσα
στην ΣΤ΄ Δημοτικού των Μειονοτικών σχολείων όπου φοιτούν Πομάκοι μαθητές.
Στο επίκεντρο βρίσκεται το γλωσσικό εγχειρίδιο, το οποίο αποτελεί και βασικό
εργαλείο για μαθητές και δασκάλους για την εκμάθηση της γλώσσας.
Μέσα στις επόμενες σελίδες παρουσιάζεται αρχικά η υπάρχουσα
βιβλιογραφία για τους όρους που χρησιμοποιούνται και για το ρόλο του εγχειριδίου
και τη λειτουργία του για τις μειονοτικές ομάδες στην Ελλάδα αλλά και σε άλλες
χώρες της Ευρώπης. Στο δεύτερο μέρος, η εργασία παρουσιάζει τα αποτελέσματα της
έρευνας που διεξήχθη, η οποία εστιάζει στις απόψεις και την οπτική των Πομάκων
μαθητών για το γλωσσικό εγχειρίδιο το οποίο χρησιμοποιούν. Τα αποτελέσματα που
παρουσιάζονται έχουν ως στόχο να θέσουν σημαντικά ερωτήματα για το ρόλο του
εγχειριδίου στην εκμάθηση της ελληνικής γλώσσας και να αξιολογήσουν την
χρησιμότητά του. Παράλληλα, παρουσιάζονται τα προβλήματα τα οποία οι μαθητές
θεωρούν ότι έχει το γλωσσικό εγχειρίδιο ενώ αναλύονται το περιεχόμενο και η δομή
