Communication between school and students’ parents, is an essential part of their overall relationship and cooperation. The school also plays a special role to children’s socialization so, communication between family and teachers or the School Principal, can help problem solving. There are a few communication models and the one that will be used depends on the form the two sides want to transform to, their relation. School Principal’s role is also of a crucial matter for the parental involvement or the overall cooperation with the student’s families. School Principals’ efforts to tighten their contact with students’ families, take place in the context of the implementation of communication tactics, in order to improve the above relationship. Of course, the communication skills of each School Principal as well as his ability to transmit the meaning of a more frequent contact, to the rest of the teaching staff, plays a great role, since this is the only way to transform the impersonal relationships with parents to more friendly. In the research for answers concerning the levels of communication and relationships between parents and school, a comparative study between urban and non urban schools in the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, took place. For the data collection, a questionnaire was used, while for the data analysis a Chi-Square test was conducted in a population of 50 Primary Education School Principals (25 from urban schools and 25 from non-urban), concluding to very interesting results. There were identified differences among the views of School Principals of the above 2 categories, about issues discussed between School Principals and parents, which proves that students’ parents in urban and non-urban schools in Prefecture of Thessaloniki, are concerned by different subjects.Additionally, differences were also identified in issues related to the problems discussion between Parents’ Association and school or School Principal, the communication frequency, the way of communication as well as the benefits of communication with parents. Therefore, the study drew useful conclusions about different views of School Principals and could be the basis of future researchers.
