This thesis deals with one of the newest branches of tourism that is of great interest both economically and technologically, space tourism. The purpose of the thesis is to identify what are the challenges posed by the evolution of space tourism and what are the opportunities and benefits that mankind can derive in the long run. The history of space tourism is of immense interest. Its evolution to date has gone through many stages which at times have been successful and others unsuccessful but its evolution never stopped, so we came to make space tourism a reality. The challenges facing space tourism are many and a solution must be found for all as it is important that these challenges do not put a brake on its evolution. If all goes well, then a new page opens for space tourism and for humanity. The opportunities and benefits of space tourism are enormous and people should make the most of them. To find the above we had to do a review of today's literature to find out how space tourism started, how it evolved and what its current state is, as well as the challenges, opportunities and benefits that arise. For the research part of the project, the tool used was the questionnaire. The questions were about whether Greek citizens are familiar with the term space tourism and what their opinion is, as well as whether they are interested in space travel. The way people were selected to participate in the survey was a convenience sample. The total responses we received were 77 and were statistically analyzed with Spss software.
