The main purpose of the present thesis is to focus the peaches due to their high nutritional value for consumers and their substantial export dynamics and thus their contribution to the Greek economy. In this regard, the study focuses, both theoretically and empirically, on the intention of Greek peaches producers to implement Quality Management Systems. At an early stage, in order to achieve the aim of the survey, a review of the literature on Quality Management Systems was carried out, especially in the farming sector through the discovery of international and Greek academic articles. Subsequently, for the purpose of conducting the study at the empirical level, a relevant self-reported questionnaire was prepared, which was distributed electronically on a representative random sample of peach producers in Greece. The survey was conducted from November 2018 to January 2019. The data analysis was followed using the SPSS 24 program. The results of the survey, following the analysis of the sample, have shown that producers have a strong intention to apply a quality certificate over the next five years. They also identify the benefits of certificates with the increase in price and clientele. At the same time, a deterrent to applying quality certificates is excessive bureaucracy.
