In this thesis, an historical overview of the asparagus is first presented. The botanical
description of the asparagus is then described in terms of its root system, followed by
its varieties, hybrids and crosses. As crop requirements play a very important role, the
present work analyzes soil cultivation and suitability as well as other requirements for
growing asparagus, such as light, air, water. Some information is also given on its
harvest, crop yields, irrigation and climatic conditions required for its propagation. It
was also necessary to make a brief reference to the effects of asparagus on the body.
After all, the basic body of work that deals first with all the insects that are enemies to
the cultivation of asparagus is analyzed. Finally, it is necessary to analyze the diseases
caused by pathogenic causes.

| Abstract: | Στην πτυχιακή εργασία αυτή, παρουσιάζεται αρχικά μια ιστορική αναδρομή που
αφορά το σπαράγγι. Στη συνέχεια, γίνεται βοτανική περιγραφή του σπαραγγιού, όσον
αφορά το ριζικό του σύστημα, και στη συνέχεια παρατίθενται οι ποικιλίες, τα υβρίδια
και οι διασταυρώσεις του. Καθώς παίζουν πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο οι καλλιεργητικές
απαιτήσεις, στην παρούσα εργασία αναλύεται η κατεργασία και καταλληλόλητα του
εδάφους καθώς και οι υπόλοιπες απαιτήσεις για την καλλιέργεια του σπαραγγιού,
όπως το φως, ο αέρας, το νερό. Δίνονται, ακόμη, ορισμένες πληροφορίες για την
συγκομιδή του, τις αποδόσεις από την καλλιέργεια, την άρδευση και τις κλιματικές
συνθήκες που απαιτούνται για τον πολλαπλασιασμό του. Κρίθηκε, επίσης,
απαραίτητο, να γίνει μια σύντομη αναφορά στις επιδράσεις των σπαραγγιών στον
οργανισμό. Μετά από όλα αυτά, αναλύεται ο βασικός κορμός της εργασίας που
αφορά πρώτ’ απ’ όλα τα έντομα που αποτελούν εχθρούς για την καλλιέργεια των
σπαραγγιών. Τέλος θεωρείται απαραίτητο να αναλυθούν και οι ασθένειες που
προκαλούνται σε αυτά από παθογόνα αίτια. In this thesis, an historical overview of the asparagus is first presented.
