The ketogenic diet was initially used to treat epilepsy and neurodegenerative
disorders. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in its application in the
treatment of obesity due to its proven efficacy and its positive effect on overall health.
It is a diet that induces a state of ketosis in the body that mimics the physiology of
fasting. These diets have a common characteristic of low carbohydrate intake. There
are several distinctions in fat and protein intake, but may be a keto diet of moderate or
high fat and high or high protein content. Regardless of the range of combinations of
the distribution of macronutrient ratios in each case, the formation of ketosis is a
prerequisite. The purpose of this research is to investigate the nutritional knowledge
of Ketogenic diet coupled with the degree of compliance with the particular diet,
regardless of their subject matter and their degree of specialization in nutrition. The
survey involved 67 people aged 18-62, who were asked to respond to anthropometric
measurements and biochemical examinations. The majority of women surveyed were
women. The main reason for starting the keto-wound is weight loss and a healthy
lifestyle. Most follow a high fat, low carbohydrate and moderate to high protein diet
where the image is matched to a ketogenic diet plan. The results were very
satisfactory in terms of the degree of satisfaction of individuals with psychological
and mental factors in relation to the causes of food intake; individuals are
predominantly in an age group experienced and despite the side effects, obstacles and
limitations that may encounter choose this particular food model very faithfully.
Nutritional compliance and information on the keto diet model are mainly applied by
women with an average age of 46 years and a BMI of 23.5 kg / m2 and belong to
(10%) where they monitor lipidemic / biochemical markers. The percentage of the
keto-nutrition sample is very small and has a global perception of body health at that
time. These results help to identify and highlight the nutritional and non-nutritional
factors that are likely to be more intoxicated by reduced awareness and nutritional
compliance around the ketogenic diet.
