Εργασιακό άγχος και επαγγελματική εξουθένωση στους εκπαιδευτικούς της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης Ηπείρου και Αιτωλοακαρνανίας (Master thesis)

The aim of this paper is to study the occupational stress and burnout of Secondary Education Teachers in Epirus and Aitoloakarnania. In particular, there is an attempt to identify the main sources of stress, to detect the levels of occupational burnout as well as to explore their possible connection with the personal and demographic characteristics of teachers.
For the investigation of the phenomenon, α quantitative survey was conducted during the period May-June 2019. The survey was carried out with the participation of 147 teachers who work at Junior and Senior High Schools in the areas mentioned above. A self-report questionnaire in electronic and printed form was used to collect data which was processed with the PSPP 1.2.0 statistical program.
The results of the survey revealed that the three main sources of stress for teachers are the frequent changes in educational policy, the inadequate salary and students’ lack of interest and motivation. In relation to job burnout, teachers were found to be at a moderate to low level. Finally, there was a weak correlation of the main sources of stress with the marital status, age and teaching experience of the sample but the levels of burnout did not seem to be influenced by the personal and demographic characteristics of the teachers.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η μελέτη του επαγγελματικού άγχους και της εξουθένωσης στους εκπαιδευτικούς Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης της Ηπείρου και της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας. Συγκεκριμένα, επιχειρείται ο εντοπισμός των κυριότερων πηγών άγχους, η ανίχνευση των επιπέδων της επαγγελματικής εξουθένωσης καθώς και η διερεύνηση της πιθανής σύνδεσής τους με τα προσωπικά και δημογραφικά χαρακτηριστικά των εκπαιδευτικών.
Για τη διερεύνηση του φαινομένου διεξήχθη ποσοτική έρευνα κατά την περίοδο Μαΐου- Ιουνίου 2019 στην οποία συμμετείχαν 147 εκπαιδευτικοί που υπηρετούν σε γυμνάσια και λύκεια των περιοχών που προαναφέρθηκαν. Για τη συλλογή των δεδομένων χρησιμοποιήθηκε ερωτηματολόγιο αυτοαναφοράς σε ηλεκτρονική και έντυπη μορφή και η επεξεργασία των στοιχείων έγινε με το στατιστικό πρόγραμμα PSPP 1.2.0.
Από τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας προέκυψε ότι οι τρεις κυριότερες πηγές άγχους για τους εκπαιδευτικούς είναι οι συχνές αλλαγές της εκπαιδευτικής πολιτικής, ο ανεπαρκής μισθός και η έλλειψη ενδιαφέροντος και κινήτρων από τους μαθητές. Σε σχέση με την επαγγελματική εξουθένωση διαπιστώθηκε πως οι εκπαιδευτικοί βρίσκονται σε μέτρια προς χαμηλά επίπεδα. Τέλος, βρέθηκε ασθενής συσχέτιση των βασικών πηγών άγχους με την οικογενειακή κατάσταση, την ηλικία και την προϋπηρεσία του δείγματος αλλά τα επίπεδα της εξουθένωσης δεν φάνηκε να επηρεάζονται από τα προσωπικά και δημογραφικά χαρακτηριστικά των εκπαιδευτικών.
