The sun, one of the wonders of nature, was , and still is an irreplaceable source of energy and life. As a "synonym" of summer, it is associated with tan, which, unlike the beautiful and healthy look it gives to the skin, can carry many risks. The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between the sun and the skin and how it can be transforms from indispensable and beneficial, harmful and dangerous. Of course, it should not be omitted to report and evaluate the beneficial effect of the helium, always keeping in mind limited time exposure to it as well as protection. After all, prevention is the best treatment. This paper is divided into sections in which the first one describes the anatomy and histology of the skin, then the sunlight, the light spectrum and the changes in ultraviolet radiation, are initially presented, and finally the skin effects that can be caused by extensive exposure to ultraviolet radiation . The purpose of this project is to understand these effects of the sun, protection with the right means and sunscreen, the identification of the various damages caused by the solar radiation and their treatment.

| Abstract: | O ήλιος, ένα από τα θαύματα της φύσης αποτελούσε και αποτελεί αναντικατάστατη πηγή ενέργειας και ζωής. Ως "συνώνυμο" του καλοκαιριού, συνδέεται με το μαύρισμα το οποίο σε αντίθεση με την όμορφη και υγιής όψη που δίνει στο δέρμα, μπορεί να εγκυμονεί πολλούς κινδύνους. Αντικείμενο της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η μελέτη της σχέσης του ήλιου με το δέρμα και πως αυτή μπορεί να γίνει από απαραίτητη και ευεργετική, βλαβερή και επικίνδυνη. Δεν θα πρέπει βεβαίως να παραληφθεί η αναφορά και αξιολόγηση της ευεργετικής για τον οργανισμό δράσης του ηλίου, έχοντας πάντα φυσικά υπόψιν την χρονομετρημένη έκθεση σε αυτόν καθώς επίσης και την προστασία. Άλλωστε η πρόληψη είναι η καλύτερη θεραπεία . Η εργασία αυτή χωρίζεται σε ενότητες στις οποίες αρχικά παρουσιάζεται η δομή και ιστολογία του δέρματος, έπειτα η ηλιακή ακτινοβολία, το φάσμα του φωτός και οι μεταβολές της υπεριώδους ακτινοβολίας, και τέλος ερμηνεύονται οι δερματικές επιπτώσεις που μπορούν να προκληθούν σε εκτεταμένη έκθεση στην υπεριώδη ακτινοβολία,. Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι η κατανόηση αυτών των επιπτώσεων του ήλιου, της προστασίας με τα σωστά μέσα και αντηλιακά , της αναγνώριση των διαφόρων βλαβών που οφείλονται στην ηλιακή ακτινοβολία και η αντιμετώπισή τους.
