Μη ελεγχόμενα σε ζώα καλλυντικά προϊόντα και η εξέλιξη τους μέχρι και σήμερα (Bachelor thesis)
Τάνε, Σιντορέλα
The following work is a bibliographical reference to products that have not
been tested on animals and their evolution to date. Testing various ingredients in
animals is a technique that has been around for hundreds of years. Animal component
testing is a brutal process that removes any right to life and prosperity.
There are many techniques and methods used, from the addition of blood
components to skin tests that are mainly used to detect allergies. In recent years there
has been an improvement in laboratory conditions and a shift in the cosmetics
industry to alternative testing methods. The countries that have definitively banned
the use and exploitation of animals are Norway, Israel and all the European Union
countries. However, the US and China, two countries with huge production and
exports, continue patriarchal techniques by using animals for cosmetic testing. In
recent years, however, there has been an increase in the animal rights movement
aimed at eradicating this phenomenon and simultaneously informing the public about
the cruelties that animals experience in these conditions.
The present work is not only about animal testing but also extends to various
social problems such as consumer ignorance and lack of information. As noted below,
it is important to inform and educate the population both on the living conditions of
laboratory animals and on the torture they experience to ensure human safety in
cosmetic products.
Finally, a key finding of the research is that through proper information and
various events and actions, a larger proportion of the population will be able to
counteract this phenomenon. The power of many is the key to reducing the incidence
of animal abuse and why not eliminating it! This can be achieved if organizations
fighting for better living and animal rights are spreading their ideas and fighting for
the right information to the public.
