Κλινική προσέγγιση περιστατικού με εγκεφαλική παράλυση (Bachelor thesis)

Purposes: The present study was conducted in order to investigate the results of physiotherapy program in a female adult with cerebral palsy. The physiotherapeutic approach was based in knowledge acquired from undergraduate level classes of kinesiology and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and was carried out under the professor’s supervision.
Methodology: The intervention lasted for two months with the frequency of two conferences per week, while for the evaluation and the determination of the therapies evolution the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), the Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS), the Five Times Sit to as well as not verified scales.
Results: No significant differentiations were observed in the three measurements with the highest difference appearing in BBS. In contrast to that there were significant differences in the scores of the non verified measurements with the two minute-standing in the upright position requiring the use of the upper limb from 5 times to none and the number of the successful attempts to stand up from a seated position, using only the upper limb, from 1 to 5.
Conversation: The improvement of the values of the non-verified tests is inherent in increasing the functionality of the patient. Additional research into physiotherapeutic intervention geared to task-oriented objectives will lead to safer conclusions with regards to the effectiveness of the methods of treatment applied.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός: Η παρούσα εργασία πραγματοποιήθηκε με σκοπό να διερευνηθούν τα αποτελέσματα ενός παρεμβατικού προγράμματος φυσικοθεραπείας σε μία ενήλικη με εγκεφαλική παράλυση (ΕΠ). Η φυσιοθεραπευτική προσέγγιση βασίστηκε σε γνώση που αποκτήθηκε από τα προπτυχιακού επιπέδου μαθήματα κινησιολογίας και ιδιοδέκτριας νευρομυϊκής διευκόλυνσης (PNF) και πραγματοποιήθηκε υπό την επίβλεψη του επιβλέποντα καθηγητή.
Μεθοδολογία: Η παρέμβαση διήρκησε 2 μήνες με συχνότητα δύο συνεδριών ανά εβδομάδα ενώ για την αξιολόγηση και τον καθορισμό εξέλιξης της θεραπείας χρησιμοποιήθηκαν οι Berg Balance Scale (BBS), η Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS), το Five Times Sit to Stand Test καθώς και 2 μη σταθμισμένες κλίμακες.
Αποτελέσματα: Δεν παρατηρήθηκαν σημαντικές διαφοροποιήσεις στις τρεις μετρήσεις με τη μεγαλύτερη διαφορά να εμφανίζεται στη BBS. Σε αντίθεση με αυτό σημαντικές ήταν οι διαφορές στα σκορ των μη σταθμισμένων μετρήσεων με την δίλεπτη παραμονή στην όρθια θέση να απαιτεί τη χρήση του άνω άκρου από 5 φορές σε καμία και ο αριθμός επιτυχημένων προσπαθειών έγερσης από την καθιστή θέση, με χρήση μόνο του αριστερού άνω άκρου, από τη 1 στις 5.
Συζήτηση: Η βελτίωση των τιμών των μη σταθμισμένων δοκιμασιών είναι συνυφασμένη με την αύξηση της λειτουργικότητας της ασθενούς.
