Nowadays cosmetology has made tremendous progress. For slowing down the aging of the skin and restoring its youthfulness, it has become a great cosmetological research and progress in the production of cosmetic products. Αs a result, it has been more difficult to choose not only the best cosmetic products available but also the most suitable for the requirements of its skin.
However, in order to make possible the action of cosmetic products, they must be capable of penetrating the normal barrier, which prevents not only the entry of foreign substances from the environment into the human organism but also the exit of its biological components. This normal barrier is the skin which consists of the epidermis, the main skin or dermis and the subcutaneous or subcutaneous tissue.
The rules and mechanisms of crossing the barrier from the various pharmaceutical creams or ointments as well as from the cosmetic products are of great interest to the aestheticians, cosmetologists and dermatologists because they depend heavily on the therapeutic or cosmetic effects.

| Abstract: | Στη σημερινή εποχή ο τομέας της κοσμητολογίας έχει σημειώσει τεράστια πρόοδο. Για την επιβράδυνση της γήρανσης αλλά και για τη νεανικότητα του δέρματος, έχει γίνει μεγάλη κοσμητολογική έρευνα αλλά και πρόοδος στην παραγωγή καλλυντικών προϊόντων. Αυτό έχει ως αποτέλεσμα, να δυσκολεύεται πλέον κανείς να επιλέξει, όχι μόνο τα καλύτερα κοσμητολογικά προϊόντα που του διατίθενται αλλά και τα καταλληλότερα για τις απαιτήσεις του δέρματός του.
Όμως, για να γίνει δυνατή η δράση των καλλυντικών προϊόντων, θα πρέπει αυτά να είναι ικανά να διαπεράσουν το φυσιολογικό φραγμό. Ο φυσιολογικός αυτός φραγμός εμποδίζει την είσοδο ξένων ουσιών από το περιβάλλον στο ανθρώπινο οργανισμό αλλά και την έξοδο των βιολογικών του συστατικών. Το φυσιολογικό αυτό φραγμό αποτελεί το δέρμα, το οποίο αποτελείται από την επιδερμίδα, το κυρίως δέρμα ή χόριο και το υπόδερμα ή υποδόριο ιστό.
Οι κανόνες και οι μηχανισμοί της διάβασης του φραγμού από τις διάφορες φαρμακευτικές κρέμες ή αλοιφές καθώς και από τα κοσμητολογικά προϊόντα, παρουσιάζουν πολύ μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον για τους αισθητικούς, τους κοσμητολόγους και τους δερματολόγους, διότι από αυτούς εξαρτώνται σε μεγάλο βαθμό τα θεραπευτικά ή κοσμητολογικά αποτελέσματα.
