Η διερεύνηση της συμμόρφωσης των ασθενών με σακχαρώδη διαβήτη τύπου 2 στην θεραπευτική αγωγή και η επίδραση στην ποιότητα ζωής των ασθενών (Bachelor thesis)

INTRODUCTION: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a disorder that affects a patient’s health and at the same time the prevalence rates are increasing and evolving to an epidemics of the modern times.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this research is to investigate the rates of the patients’ compliance to their treatment for diabetes type 2, the estimation of the factors that affect the abidance and in it’s turn how does the conformity to the treatment itself affects the patients’ quality of life.
METHODS: The sample of this survey is consisted of 100 patients suffering from type 2 diabetes who visited the diabetics department of the Anticancer Hospital of Thessaloniki ¨Theageneio¨. The individuals filled a questionnaire concerning their compliance to the treatment they were receiving. As far as the quality of their lives is concerned a more general questionnaire was used which in fact has been used before. Moreover, social and demographic data, traits linked to the disorder and its treatment and factors concerning the treatment are included.
Results: The majority of the survey’s participants is consisted of women (62%) with the average age of 61 until 75 years old. High levels of conformity have been observed in the patients’ diet, their tendency to do blood tests especially by checking the sugar levels in their blood and through provision and control for sores and other lesions in their feet, while on the contrary exercising is the least preferable way of adjusting to the treatment.
Conclusions: In conclusion, the results of this research are relatively good in accordance to the number of patients participating and the compliance to the treatment as well as the following the medical advice on a daily basis. Clinical factors have been shown to affect negatively the patients’ quality of life. In order to be able to generalize the results it would be preferably wise carry out a survey on an international level.

| Abstract: | ΕΙΣΑΓΩΓΗ: Ο σακχαρώδης διαβήτης τύπο 2 είναι διαταραχή που επιβαρύνει την υγεία των ασθενών και ταυτόχρονα οι ρυθμοί επιπολασμού αυξάνονται και εξελίσσονται σε σύγχρονη επιδημία.
ΣΚΟΠΟΣ: Ο σκοπός της έρευνας είναι η διερεύνηση της συμμόρφωσης στην θεραπευτική αγωγή των ασθενών με σακχαρώδη διαβήτη τύπου 2, η εκτίμηση των παραμέτρων που ασκούν επιρροή στη συμμόρφωση αλλά κατά πόσο η συμμόρφωση αυτή επηρεάζει την ποιότητα ζωής των ασθενών αυτών.
ΜΕΘΟΔΟΣ: Το δείγμα της μελέτης αυτής αποτέλεσαν 100 ασθενείς που επισκέφτηκαν το διαβητολογικό ιατρείο του Αντικαρκινικού Νοσοκομείου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΝΘ) ‘’Θεαγένειο’’ με σακχαρώδη διαβήτη τύπου 2. Η συμμόρφωση στην θεραπεία διερευνήθηκε από ένα ειδικό ερωτηματολόγιο που συμπληρωνόταν από τον κάθε ασθενή ξεχωριστά. Για την ποιότητα ζωής έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί ένα γενικό ερωτηματολόγιο που έχει γίνει ξανά η χρήση του. Ακόμη το ερωτηματολόγιο συμπεριλαμβάνει κοινωνικοδημογραφικά δεδομένα, τα χαρακτηριστικά που συνδυάζονται με την θεραπεία και την νόσο και τους παράγοντες που έχουν σχέση με την φροντίδα τους.
ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΑ: Η πλειοψηφία του δείγματος αποτελείται από γυναίκες (62,6%) με μέση τιμή ηλικίας που κυμαίνεται από 61 έως 75. Η μεγαλύτερη συμμόρφωση εντοπίζεται ως προς την δίαιτα, τις εξετάσεις αίματος- έλεγχος σακχάρου του αίματος και την φροντίδα ποδιών. Από την άλλη η μικρότερη συμμόρφωση παρατηρείται στην άσκηση.
ΣΥΜΠΕΡΑΣΜΑΤΑ: Το δείγμα των ασθενών που συμμετείχαν στην έρευνα εμφανίζει σχετικά καλά επίπεδα συμμόρφωσης στην θεραπευτική τους αγωγή σε καθημερινή βάση και ως προς τις ιατρικές οδηγίες. Οι διάφορες κλινικές παράμετροι ασκούν αρνητική επιρροή στην ποιότητα ζωής των διαβητικών ασθενών. Θα ήταν προτιμότερο να πραγματοποιηθεί εκτενέστερη έρευνα σε διεθνές επίπεδο προκειμένου να γενικευτούν τα αποτελέσματα αυτά.
