Introduction Diabetes and colorectal cancer are two chronic illnesses that can occur in different periods of a person's life.
The aim of this study is to investigate the existence of depression and anxiety in patients with colorectal cancer and diabetes mellitus, their quality of life and the factors that affect these variables (depression, anxiety and quality of life).
Methodology The HADS scale for mental health assessment (depression and anxiety), the EORTC QLQ-C30 quality of life measurement for cancer patients and EORTC QLQ-CR29 for colorectal cancer were used to collect the research data. rectum.
Results The study involved 100 patients (58 men and 42 women) with an average age of 65.77 ± 9.99 years of life. In the context of the correlations between the variables, the results showed that there is a negative correlation between sample age and anxiety (r = -0.227, p = 0.024) as well as the total score of the HADS questionnaire (r = -0.238, p = 0.019).
Conclusions Both depression and anxiety and the quality of life of these patients are affected by different sociodemographic and clinical factors.

| Abstract: | Εισαγωγή Ο διαβήτης και ο καρκίνος του παχέος εντέρου είναι δύο χρόνιες ασθένειες, που μπορεί να εκδηλωθούν σε διάφορες περιόδους της ζωής του ατόμου.
Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι να διερευνήσει την ύπαρξη κατάθλιψης και άγχους σε ασθενείς με καρκίνο παχέος εντέρου και ΣΔ2, την ποιότητα ζωής τους καθώς και τους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν τις εν λόγω μεταβλητές (κατάθλιψη, άγχος και ποιότητα ζωής).
Μεθοδολογία Για τη συλλογή των ερευνητικών δεδομένων χρησιμοποιήθηκε η κλίμακα HADS για την αξιολόγηση της ψυχικής υγείας (κατάθλιψη και άγχος), το ερωτηματολόγιο EORTC QLQ-C30 μέτρησης ποιότητας ζωής για ασθενείς με καρκίνο και το EORTC QLQ-CR29 για τον καρκίνο του παχέος εντέρου και του ορθού.
Αποτελέσματα Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 100 ασθενείς (58 άνδρες και 42 γυναίκες) με μέση ηλικία τα 65,77±9,99 έτη ζωής. Στο πλαίσιο των συσχετίσεων μεταξύ των μεταβλητών, τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι υπάρχει αρνητική συσχέτιση μεταξύ της ηλικίας του δείγματος και του άγχους (r= -0,227, p=0,024) καθώς και της συνολικής βαθμολογίας του ερωτηματολογίου HADS (r= -0,238, p=0,019).
Συμπεράσματα Τόσο η κατάθλιψη και το άγχος όσο και η ποιότητα ζωής αυτών των ασθενών επηρεάζονται από διαφορετικούς κοινωνικοδημογραφικούς και κλινικούς παράγοντες.
