The aim of this thesis is the organization of the material of the Library of the 1st Primary School of Oreokastro, its librarian processing and the entry of records into the automated Koha system. For the organization of the material, the process of cataloging according to the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR2), the classification of books according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system, thematic indexing according to the established headings of the Library of Congress (LC) and finally the technical operations of the material aimed at organizing and placing them on the shelves.

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία έχει ως στόχο την οργάνωση του υλικού της Βιβλιοθήκης του 1ου Δημοτικού Σχολείου Ωραιοκάστρου που αφορά, τη βιβλιοθηκονομική επεξεργασία του και την εισαγωγή εγγραφών στο αυτοματοποιημένο σύστημα Koha. Για την οργάνωση του υλικού ήταν απαραίτητη η διαδικασία της καταλογογράφησης σύμφωνα με τους Αγγλοαμερικάνικους Κανόνες Καταλογογράφησης (AACR2), η ταξινόμηση των βιβλίων σύμφωνα με το σύστημα Dewey Decimal Classification, η θεματική ευρετηρίαση σύμφωνα με τις καθιερωμένες επικεφαλίδες της βιβλιοθήκη του Κογκρέσου (LC) και τέλος οι τεχνικές εργασίες του υλικού που αποσκοπούν στην οργάνωση και τοποθέτηση τους στα ράφια.
