Acne is a multifactorial disorder of the skin and capillary, with various causes, whichare mainly hormonal in nature. A wide range of therapies have been developed today, which are widely divided into medical, cosmetic and nutritional. The most commonmedical treatments are medicines ie isotretinoin, oral antibiotics and hormonal agents. Although these agents are effective, resistance to antibiotics can be developed whentaken for a long time. Aesthetic interventions include the use of cleansers andmoisturizers, chemical peeling and laser-light devices. Light laser devices are animportant alternative to acne treatment compared to conventional treatments, andmaybe suitable for patients who do not respond or do not comply with treatment or for patients with antibiotic resistance. Light-based treatments include photodynamictherapy, blue and red light application, and laser. Among all light treatments, laser treatment has shown a longer lasting level of efficacy. Finally, dietary interventionsare controversial, but there do appear to be foods that make acne worse, but nutritiongenerally cannot be considered a cause of acne. On the other hand, some foods, suchas those rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and dietary fiber, could improve theappearance of acne. Many times combination therapy, such as the administrationof medication in combination with topical pharmaceutical agents or the combinationof light devices with pharmaceutical agents, can lead to better results
