In modern times, skin aging can be divided into 2 definite categories, which are endogenous either as it is otherwise called biological and exogenous or as it is otherwise called photoaging. It is important to emphasize that the first category concerns the chronological aging of the skin where aging is not contained, which develops from various external factors, such as sunlight, chemicals, etc. and which is found only in the elderly or younger people who present with various pathological conditions. This category shows that human skin is genetically predisposed to aging.
On the other hand, there is photoaging, which is a field of research in this work. With this term we call the damage that can occur and burden the skin to a significant level, in case it is exposed to sunlight without good protection, since this radiation has a cumulative effect.
In general, exogenous aging develops from the influences of various external parameters on human skin and is responsible for the early onset of signs of aging. In addition to sunlight, various other factors, such as free radicals, which develop from environmental pollution, smoking, etc., play a decisive role in the phenomenon of this form.
In this work we will focus and analyze the modern aesthetic treatment of photoaging. Our goal is to analyze this phenomenon as best we can. In order to achieve the above goal, a bibliographic review will be implemented through international Greek as well sources.
