The purpose of this study is to present the most recent estimates of obesity (total and central) prevalence in children aged 7-9.9 years who attend primary schools in the regional municipalities of Thessaloniki through their anthropometric measurement. In the context of the COSI research on the prevalence of childhood obesity
that took part in elementary schools of the Greek territory, a sample of 63 primary school children from 4 primary schools in the municipalities of Pylaia-Chortiatis and Ampelokipi was collected and processed. More specifically, results were obtained from 17 boys and 12 girls in 2nd grade aged 7-7.9, and 14 boys and 20 girls in 4th grade aged 9-9.9.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας είναι η μελέτη των πιο πρόσφατων
εκτιμήσεων για τον επιπολασμό της παχυσαρκίας (συνολικής και κεντρικής) σε παιδιά ηλικίας 7-9,9 ετών που φοιτούν σε δημοτικά σχολεία περιφερειακών δήμων της Θεσσαλονίκης μέσω της ανθρωπομετρικής μέτρησης αυτών. Στα πλαίσια της έρευνας COSI για τον επιπολασμό της παιδικής παχυσαρκίας που πραγματοποιήθηκες σε δημοτικά σχολεία της ελληνικής επικράτειας, συγκεντρώθηκε και επεξεργάστηκε δείγμα το οποίο προήλθε από 63
παιδιά δημοτικού από 4 δημοτικά σχολεία των δήμων Πυλαίας-Χορτιάτη και Αμπελοκήπων. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, ελήφθησαν αποτελέσματα από 17 αγόρια και 12 κορίτσια Β’ δημοτικού ηλικίας από 7-7,9 ετών, και από 14 αγόρια και 20 κορίτσια Δ’ δημοτικού ηλικίας από 9-9,9 ετών.
