The purpose of this paper is to identify how STEAM education can contribute to the
development of citizenship and social responsibility among secondary school
students. For this purpose, it is selected to conduct qualitative research on secondary
school teachers, while the research tool to be used is that of a semi-structured
interview. By conducting the aforementioned research, the following research
questions are answered:
1.What is the view of secondary school teachers on whether STEAM education
can create active and responsible citizens?
2.What is the opinion of secondary school teachers regarding the role (social,
economic, political) of STEAM education in the Greek school curriculum?
3.How, in the view of teachers, can STEAM education be linked to the
cultivation of citizenship and social responsibility - participation among
secondary school students?
