This paper analyses the image of librarians in the 7th art, which is cinema. Cinema plays a significant role in creating the need for people to belong in a social environment. Throughout the years, librarians have changed and evolved to adapt to the technological advancements within the library. The stereotypes and images of librarians are a topic of study that has been a concern for researchers and librarians for years. Through specific films and some examples from television series, the purpose of this paper is to highlight these stereotypes in film, the image that has prevailed over the years and whether there is the potential for these images to change in the future.

| Abstract: | Η συγκεκριμένη εργασία αναλύει την εικόνα των βιβλιοθηκονόμων στην 7η τέχνη, δηλαδή στον κινηματογράφο. Ο κινηματογράφος παίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στην δημιουργία της ανάγκης των ανθρώπων να ανήκουν σε ένα κοινωνικό περίγυρο. Μέσα στα χρόνια, οι βιβλιοθηκονόμοι έχουν αλλάξει και έχουν εξελιχθεί για να προσαρμοστούν στις εξελίξεις της τεχνολογίας μέσα στη βιβλιοθήκη. Τα στερεότυπα και οι εικόνες των βιβλιοθηκονόμων είναι ένα θέμα μελέτης που προβληματίζει ερευνητές και βιβλιοθηκονόμους εδώ και χρόνια. Μέσα από συγκεκριμένες ταινίες και κάποια παραδείγματα από τηλεοπτικές σειρές, στόχος της εργασίας είναι να αναδείξει τα στερεότυπα αυτά στον κινηματογράφο, τις εικόνες που έχουν επικρατήσει όλα αυτά τα χρόνια και αν υπάρχει η προοπτική να αλλάξουν στο μέλλον.
