Στάσεις εκπαιδευτικών ως προς την ανατροφή παιδιών από ομόφυλα ζευγάρια και το γάμο (σύμφωνο συμβίωσης) ομόφυλων ζευγαριών (Master thesis)

Homosexuality and the regulation of social relations and legal issues concerning this group of people are of great concern to society today, both at a local and an international level. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the attitudes and opinions of the educational community of Central Macedonia regarding the civil union, the relationship model (parents & children) that develops around these issues as well as the investigation of the potential acceptance for adoption from gay couples.
The research involved 200 teachers (secondary school teachers) from a specific geographical area (Central Macedonia). Teachers were asked to complete the Scale Beliefs questionnaires about Children's Adjustment on Same-Sex Families by Frias-Navarro and Monterde-i-Bort (2013) and the Attitudes toward same-sex marriage scale by Pearl and Galupo (2007)so as to examine their attitudes towards the civil union and the adoption of children by same-sex couples.
Statistical analysis showed that teachers seem to have reservations about whether a child should grow up with gay parents as they believe they may face problems in the form of social pressure and rules while they consider it possible for children from gay families to develop problemsof psychological adjustment or sexual orientation. In addition, there was a positive attitude of teachers towards the right of gay couples to have their relationship recognised through the civil union. In essence, the findings show that teachers are in favour of the civil union but against the adoption of children by gay couples.

| Abstract: | Η ομοφυλοφιλία και η ρύθμιση των κοινωνικών σχέσεων και των νομικών ζητημάτων που αφορά αυτή την ομάδα ανθρώπων απασχολεί έντονα την κοινωνία σήμερα τόσο σε τοπικό και όσο και σε διεθνές επίπεδο. Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας είναι να γίνει διερεύνηση των στάσεων και των απόψεων της εκπαιδευτικής κοινότητας της Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας σχετικά με το σύμφωνο συμβίωσης ,την σχέση προτύπων (γονείς & παιδιά) που αναπτύσσεται γύρω από τα ζητήματα αυτά καθώς και στη διερεύνηση της δυνητικής αποδοχής για την υιοθεσία από τα ομοφυλόφιλα ζευγάρια.
Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 200 εκπαιδευτικοί (εκπαιδευτικοί Δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης) και από συγκεκριμένη γεωγραφική περιοχή (Κεντρική Μακεδονία). Οι καθηγητές κλήθηκαν να συμπληρώσουν τα ερωτηματολόγια Scale Beliefs about Children’s Adjustment on Same-Sex Families του Frias-Navarro and Monterde-i-Bort (2013) και Attitudes toward same-sex marriage scale των Pearl και Galupo (2007) προκειμένου να εξετασθεί η στάση τους απέναντι στο σύμφωνο συμβίωσης και στην υιοθεσία παιδιών από ομόφυλα ζευγάρια.
Η στατιστική ανάλυση έδειξε ότι οι εκπαιδευτικοί φαίνεται να έχουν επιφυλάξεις για το αν ένα παιδί πρέπει να μεγαλώνει με ομοφυλόφιλους γονείς καθώς θεωρούν ότι πιθανόν θα αντιμετωπίσει προβλήματα σε μορφή κοινωνικής πίεσης και κανόνων ενώ θεωρούν ότι είναι πιθανό τα παιδιά από οικογένειες ομοφυλόφιλων ζευγαριών να αναπτύξουν προβλήματα ψυχολογικής προσαρμογής ή σεξουαλικού προσανατολισμού. Επιπρόσθετα, παρατηρήθηκε θετική στάση των εκπαιδευτικών έναντι στο δικαίωμα των ομοφυλόφιλων ζευγαριών για αναγνώριση της σχέσης τους μέσα από το σύμφωνο συμβίωσης. Ουσιαστικά τα ευρήματα δείχνουν ότι οι εκπαιδευτικοί είναι υπέρ του συμφωνούν συμβίωσης και κατά της υιοθεσίας παιδιών από ομοφυλόφιλα ζευγάρια.
