In recent years there has been an increasing trend to introduce educational robotics into primary education through different approaches. In today's technology dependent societies, Scientific and Technological Literacy (SLT) is critical and necessary for the well being and further development of society. Due to rapid technological developments, this literacy, especially in Information Technology, is lacking in society. Consequently, the social environment cannot contribute significantly to SLT which can now only be achieved through systematic education. In this context, compulsory education acquires special importance. Effective SLT through education presupposes suitably qualified teachers. In this paper, the definition and inclusion of Educational Robotics (ER) in education as a subject is presented. In detail, the concepts of educational robotics and computational thinking are included, the teaching units that can be taught, the types of robots and the applications according to the ages of the students, the concept of the robot, its programming, the development of relevant cognitive skills, the role and teacher preparation. We list the approaches for the smooth integration of educational robotics in the classroom and the robotic systems that can be used. The role of teachers, the problems that arise and the solutions that can be given for teachers and their training on Educational Robotics are also mentioned. We present the research done on teachers regarding the implementation and application of teaching robotics in the classroom and analyze its results. Research results show that robotic technology helps develop technological literacy and problem solving skills. A necessary condition is the proper training of teachers so that they can integrate the course into the classrooms.en
