Εναλλακτικός τουρισμός και τρίτη ηλικία (Bachelor thesis)

The purpose of this paper is to correlate alternative forms of tourism. Initially, it is described the conditions that favored the development of tourism, specifically mass tourism. However, its negative effects either on the environment or on local communities led a significant portion of tourists to turn and establish alternative forms of tourism. An important reason for this change, is the standardized offer of services that does not meet the modern needs of tourists. To understand their particular characteristics, senior tourists are distinguished according to their age and/or generation, preferences and expectations from making trips. Finally, some forms of alternative tourism are being developed where the specific group of tourists shows increased participation according to statistics. The completion of the dissertation was concluded primarily with the use of articles in Greek and foreign language and secondarily with the assistance of printed material.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι ο συσχετισμός των εναλλακτικών μορφών τουρισμού και των τουριστών τρίτης ηλικίας. Αρχικά περιγράφονται οι συνθήκες που ευνόησαν την ανάπτυξη του τουρισμού και συγκεκριμένα του μαζικού τουρισμού. Ωστόσο, οι αρνητικές επιπτώσεις του είτε στο περιβάλλον είτε στις τοπικές κοινωνίες οδήγησαν σημαντική μερίδα τουριστών στην στροφή και καθιέρωση των εναλλακτικών μορφών τουρισμού. Σημαντικός λόγος για την παραπάνω αλλαγή είναι και η τυποποιημένη προσφορά υπηρεσιών που δεν ανταποκρίνεται στις σύγχρονες ανάγκες των τουριστών. Για την κατανόηση των ιδιαίτερων χαρακτηριστικών τους, οι τουρίστες τρίτης ηλικίας διακρίνονται ανάλογα με την ηλικία ή/και τη γενιά τους ώστε να μελετηθούν οι ανάγκες, οι προτιμήσεις και οι προσδοκίες τους από την πραγματοποίηση ταξιδιών. Τέλος, αναπτύσσονται μερικές μορφές εναλλακτικού τουρισμού όπου οι συγκεκριμένη ομάδα τουριστών παρουσιάζει αυξημένη συμμετοχή σύμφωνα με στατιστικά στοιχεία. Η διεκπεραίωση της πτυχιακής εργασίας ολοκληρώθηκε κυρίως με την χρήση ξενόγλωσσης και ελληνικής διαδικτυακής βιβλιογραφίας και δευτερευόντως με τη βοήθεια έντυπου υλικού.
