Διερεύνηση των απόψεων των αγροτών για τις επιπτώσεις του Covid-19 στη γεωργία (Bachelor thesis)

The COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact on the actions and activities of humanity, and agriculture is no exception. Food demand and, consequently, food security are significantly affected by mobility constraints, reduced purchasing power and a greater impact on the most vulnerable populations. The purpose of the survey was to investigate farmers' views on the effects of COVID-19 on agriculture. Quantitative research was conducted using a questionnaire. The sample of this research consists of 100 farmers from all over Greece. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS in version 25. Distribution channel problems were found to be moderate, and lack of transport was a significant problem. Serious problems also arose with production, while at the same time there was increased demand and reduced agricultural income, combined with reductions in sales and reductions in sales prices. Also, the demographic characteristics of the farmers were found to be related to their views on the effects of COVID-19 on agriculture. In conclusion, it is necessary to conduct more studies in Greece on the effects of COVID-19 on agriculture, but also globally, as few studies have studied the effects of COVID-19 through the views and experiences of farmers.

| Abstract: | Η πανδημία COVID-19 έχει μεγάλο αντίκτυπο στις δράσεις και τις δραστηριότητες της ανθρωπότητας, και η γεωργία δεν είναι εκτός αυτής της επίδρασης. Η ζήτηση τροφίμων και, συνεπώς, η επισιτιστική ασφάλεια επηρεάζονται σημαντικά λόγω περιορισμών κινητικότητας, μειωμένης αγοραστικής δύναμης και με μεγαλύτερο αντίκτυπο στις πιο ευάλωτες πληθυσμιακές ομάδες. Σκοπός της έρευνας που πραγματοποιήθηκε ήταν να διερευνηθούν οι απόψεις των αγροτών σχετικά με τις επιπτώσεις του COVID-19 στη γεωργία. Πραγματοποιήθηκε ποσοτική έρευνα με τη χρήση ερωτηματολογίου. Το δείγμα της έρευνας αυτής αποτελείται από 100 αγρότες από όλη την Ελλάδα. Η στατιστική ανάλυση των δεδομένων έγινε με το πρόγραμμα IBM SPSS στην έκδοση 25. Διαπιστώθηκε ότι υπάρχουν σε μέτριο βαθμό προβλήματα με τα κανάλια διανομής, και η έλλειψη μεταφορών αποτέλεσε σημαντικό πρόβλημα. Σοβαρά προβλήματα προέκυψαν και με την παραγωγή, ενώ παράλληλα υπήρξε αυξημένη ζήτηση και μειωμένα γεωργικά έσοδα, σε συνδυασμό με μειώσεις πωλήσεων και μειώσεις τιμών πώλησης. Επίσης, τα δημογραφικά χαρακτηριστικά των αγροτών βρέθηκε ότι σχετίζονται με τις απόψεις τους για τις επιπτώσεις του COVID-19 στη γεωργία. Συμπερασματικά, κρίνεται αναγκαίο να πραγματοποιηθούν περισσότερες μελέτες στην Ελλάδα σχετικά με τις επιπτώσεις του COVID-19 στη γεωργία, αλλά και σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, καθώς ελάχιστες έρευνες έχουν μελετήσει τις επιπτώσεις του COVID-19 μέσα από τις απόψεις και εμπειρίες των αγροτών.
