Οικονομικά μοντέλα στήριξης Ηλεκτρονικών Περιοδικών Ανοικτής Πρόσβασης: Η περίπτωση των LIS στο SCImago (Bachelor thesis)

Open Access offers the free dissemination of information without restrictions to the scientific community for research and educational purposes. Although Open Access advocates free, direct and continuous, unrestricted and unencumbered online access to scientific content, in reality it is not applied hundred percent. But, in order to apply the concept of Open Access, if not to a hundred percent, but to its maximum extent, according to the Budapest Declaration, there are two main ways in which it can be used. The Green Open Access, which involves self-archiving, where authors themselves deposit their article, even if it has not gone through the peer review process, on any basis they wish on the Internet. Also there is the Gold Open Access, which is what this paper is based on, as online scholarly journals use business models to provide free access to articles that have undergone the peer-review process. Using the SCImago database, a scientific database that measures the number of citations from a scientific journal, "Library and Information Science" journals were searched and investigated to identify the economic models they use to be free to access. In addition, the type of peer-review process they use and also, which content licenses (copyright) they adopt were recorded.

| Abstract: | Η Ανοικτή Πρόσβαση (Open Access) προσφέρει την ελεύθερη διάδοση της πληροφορίας χωρίς περιορισμούς στην επιστημονική κοινότητα για ερευνητικούς και εκπαιδευτικούς σκοπούς. Παρόλο που ο θεσμός την Ανοικτής Πρόσβασης (Open Access) πρεσβεύει τη ελεύθερη, άμεση και διαρκή, χωρίς περιορισμούς και τέλη, διαδικτυακή πρόσβαση σε επιστημονικό περιεχόμενο, στην πραγματικότητα δεν εφαρμόζεται στο εκατό τοις εκατό. Για να εφαρμοστεί, όμως, η έννοια της Ανοικτής Πρόσβασης, αν όχι στο εκατό τοις εκατό, αλλά στον μέγιστο βαθμό της, σύμφωνα με την Διακήρυξη της Βουδαπέστης υπάρχουν δύο κύριοι τρόποι για να χρησιμοποιηθεί. Ο “Πράσινος Δρόμος” (Green Open Access) που αφορά την αυτο-αρχειοθέτηση (self-archiving), όπου οι ίδιοι οι συγγραφείς καταθέτουν το άρθρο τους ακόμα και αν δεν έχουν περάσει την διαδικασία της αξιολόγησης, σε οποιαδήποτε βάση επιθυμούν στο διαδίκτυο. Και υπάρχει ο “Χρυσός Δρόμος” (Gold Open Access) της Ανοικτής Πρόσβασης, όπου σε αυτό βασίζεται και η παρούσα εργασία, καθώς τα ηλεκτρονικά περιοδικά επιστημονικού περιεχομένου χρησιμοποιούν οικονομικά μοντέλα (business models), προκειμένου να παρέχουν ελεύθερη πρόσβαση σε άρθρα, τα οποία έχουν υποστεί την διαδικασία της αξιολόγησης (peer-review process). Χρησιμοποιώντας την βάση SCImago, μιας επιστημονικής βάσης που μετρά τον αριθμό των ετεροαναφορών (citations) από ένα επιστημονικό περιοδικό, έγινε αναζήτηση στα “Library and Information Science” περιοδικά και ερευνήθηκαν για των εντοπισμό των οικονομικών μοντέλων που χρησιμοποιούν για να είναι ελεύθερα στην πρόσβαση. Επιπλέον, καταγράφηκαν και το είδος της αξιολόγησης (peer-review process) που χρησιμοποιούν και επίσης, ποιες άδειες χρήσης περιεχομένου (copyright) υιοθετούν.
