Η συμβολή των ελληνικών ακαδημαϊκών βιβλιοθηκών στη μελέτη της Ελληνικής Επανάστασης (Bachelor thesis)

The main mission of academic libraries is to support the teaching and research process, providing it with pre-evaluated
resources. Occasioned by the 200-year Anniversary of the Greek Revolution, we attempt to track and locate sources,
printed and electronic material, available by Greek academic libraries. The material focused on is relevant to the Greek
Revolution, Lord Byron, and P. B. Shelley, the instigators of Philhellenism in Europe. More specifically, the research
took place in the online catalogues of Greek academic libraries and academic repositories using keywords and topic
headings. As expected, an indicative example would be the fact that the records in the “Byron” topic are a lot more than
those for “Shelley.” Besides the material available, research was conducted also on the events held by Greek academic
libraries for the 200-year anniversary of the Greek Revolution.

| Abstract: | Κύρια αποστολή των ακαδημαϊκών βιβλιοθηκών είναι η υποστήριξη της εκπαιδευτικής και ερευνητικής διαδικασίας
προσφέροντας αξιολογημένες πηγές. Με αφορμή τον εορτασμό των 200 χρόνων από την Ελληνική Επανάσταση γίνεται
μια προσπάθεια εντοπισμού πηγών, έντυπων και ηλεκτρονικών, που διατίθενται στις ελληνικές ακαδημαϊκές
βιβλιοθήκες για την ελληνική επανάσταση αλλά και για τους Lord Byron and Percy Shelley, οι οποίοι ήταν από τους
πρώτους εκφραστές του Φιλελληνισμού. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, πραγματοποιήθηκε έρευνα στους online καταλόγους των
ελληνικών ακαδημαϊκών βιβλιοθηκών και των ιδρυματικών καταθετηρίων με λέξεις-κλειδιά και θέμα. Ενδεικτικά
αναφέρεται ότι οι εγγραφές που έχουν ως θέμα “Byron” υπερτερούν αριθμητικά των εγγραφών που έχουν ως θέμα
“Shelley.” Εκτός του διαθέσιμου υλικού, διερευνήθηκαν και εκδηλώσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν από τις ελληνικές
