Background: Systematic control and adhesion to treatment are essential components for the management of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) and the prevention of acute and long-term complications. Holiday seasons may present a challenge towards achieving optimal glycemic control. Aim: Our aim was to study the effect of holidays on diabetes management of school-children with T1DM wearing insulin pump and equipped with sensor. Methods: 38 children with T1DM wearing a Medtronic MiniMed 640G Insulin pump accompanied with EnliteTM Sensor and GuardianTM 2 Link transmitter to upload their data on the CareLink System two periods, starting from the 27th of July to the 9th August 2020 and from the 21st September to the 4th October 2020 Results: Mean glucose values and carbohydrate consumption did not significantly differ between the two periods. However, an important difference was recorded regarding the meal schedule. During summer, the percentage of children with T1DM who consumed their breakfast after 09:00 am rose from 47.36 % to 79.12 % (p<0.001) and the dinner consumption after 22:00 pm increased to 64.30 % during summer in comparison with the 43.69 % during school period (p<0.001). Conclusion: Children with T1DM wearing a pump and their caregivers have great flexibility and expertise in managing the disease during both holiday period and despite a greatly altered meal schedule, glycemic control stays unaffected
