Πρόταση για την εκπόνηση ενός πενταετούς σχεδίου ανάπτυξης, 2005-2010, για την Κεντρική Δημοτική Βιβλιοθήκη Θεσσαλονίκης

Abstract

Οι δημοτικές βιβλιοθήκες υπάρχουν για να ικανοποιούν τις ανάγκες κοινοτήτων και διαφέρουν κατά πολύ από τα άλλα είδη βιβλιοθηκών, ως προς τη σύνθεσή τους, το κοινό στο οποίο απευθύνονται, τα οικονομικά τους, καθώς και τον τρόπο με τον οποίο παρέχουν τις υπηρεσίες τους. Όλοι χρειάζονται πληροφόρηση και πρόσβαση στη γνώση μέσα από τα βιβλία, με τις δημοτικές βιβλιοθήκες να θεωρούνται οι πιο προσιτές πηγές. Η εργασία έχει ως σκοπό τη δημιουργία πενταετούς σχεδίου ανάπτυξης (2005-2020) για την Κεντρική Δημοτική Βιβλιοθήκη Θεσσαλονίκης. Προσδοκά να βοηθήσει τη Βιβλιοθήκη να διευρύνει το κοινό και τους χρήστες της, να αναπτύξει τη συλλογή της, να βελτιώσει τις υπηρεσίες της και κυρίως να καταφέρει να εξασφαλίσει νέους οικονομικούς πόρους, έτσι ώστε να μπορέσει να εκσυγχρονιστεί για να φτάσει τα σύγχρονα ευρωπαϊκά δεδομένα.

Municipal libraries exist to meet the needs of communities and are very different from other types of libraries, as to their composition, the target audience, their finances, and the way they provide their services. All need information and access to knowledge through books, with municipal libraries are considered the most accessible sources. The paper aims to create five-year development plan (2005-2020) for Central Municipal Library of Thessaloniki. It expects the Library to help to widen the audience and users, develop the collection, improve its services and above all managed to secure new financial resources, so that it can be modernized to reach modern European standards.
