Investigation of the object, employment and productive orientation of industrial and manufacturing branches of the Industrial Area of Thessaloniki

Abstract

Στην εργασία αυτή ερευνάται το αντικε μενο της παραγωγικής δραστηριότητας καθώς και η απασχόληση του εργατικού δυναμικού στις επιχειρήσεις που είναι εγκατεστημένες στην Βιομηχανική Περιο­ χή της Θεσσαλονίκης (ΒΙ.ΠΕ.Θ). Στόχος μας, σε ένα πρώτο επίπεδο, είναι να διαπιστώσουμε κατά πόσον οι επιχειρηματίες της ΒΙ.ΠΕ.Θ είναι γνώστες της κλαδικής διάρθρωσης της μεταποίησης. Ένα δεύτε­ ρο ζήτημα που εξετάζουμε είναι αυτό της απασχόλησης, δηλαδή ποια είναι η συμβολή των βιομηχανικών και βιοτεχνικών καταστημάτων της ΒΙ.ΠΕ.Θ στην λύση του προβλήματος της ανεργίας και τέλος, το τρίτο ζήτημα που ερευνάται είναι οι παραγωγικές επιδόσεις των εν λόγω επιχειρήσεων. Στα πλαίσια της διερεύνησης αυτών των παραγω­ γικών επιδόσεων εξετάζονται ζητήματα όπως η εφαρμογή καινοτο­ μιών, εξαγωγικού προσανατολισμού , συμμετοχής σε Ευρωπαϊκά προ­ γράμματα και τέλος σύναψης συμβάσεων με τον δημόσιο τομέα.

The paper focuses on the productive activity and the employment of labor force of the manufacturing firms situated in the lndustrial Area of Thessaloniki (Ι.Α.Τ). Our objective is firstly to find out the extent to which the entrepreneurs of the Ι.Α.Τ are familiar with the sectoral structure of the manufacturing field. Secondly, we examίne the case of employment, namely the contribution of industrial firms of the Ι.Α.Τ to the treatment of the unemployment problem. Finally, the productive performance of the fιrms is being assessed. In the frame of evaluating the productive performances, issues such as the implementation of innovation, the exporting oήentation, the participation in programmes funded by the E.U, and finally the signing of contracts with the public sector are being considered.
