ABSTRACT
The work is based on the need for digital tools based on modern learning theories that can contribute to the abolition of the student-centered teaching system that has been in place for many years in secondary education. This will increase the interest of both students and teachers who are currently feeling depreciation of their efforts in the classroom. As innovative teaching tools, research studies the Social Networks that have penetrated today in every field of everyday life, especially of the young people. A more typical example of Social Media is Facebook, the educational capabilities of which can be used by teachers and students. The work focuses on the bibliography referenced in the Social Media and particularly on Facebook with emphasis on secondary education. An essential complement to the work was to conduct an empirical study of Greek reality, taking into account corresponding surveys at schools abroad. The research was carried out in high schools and junior high schools in the city of Trikala and by examining the results of the first attempts made at the initiative of a few teachers, verifies the theoretical and empirical studies of the literature concluding that the integration of Social Media in secondary school education has satisfactory results. For the acceptance and widespread use of Social Media , it requires effort from teachers, support from the school unit and from education providers to provide teachers with technical and pedagogical knowledge so that school makes the necessary leap towards the digital time. First of all, scientific research is needed in the field of introducing web applications and especially of Social Media in the school environment, since it is almost non-existent for the Greek reality.

| Abstract: | Η εργασία έχει ως στόχο την μελέτη των Κοινωνικών Δικτύων ως ψηφιακά εργαλεία που, βασιζόμενα σε σύγχρονες μαθησιακές θεωρίες, μπορούν να συμβάλλουν στην κατάργηση του μαθητοκεντρικού συστήματος διδασκαλίας που επικρατεί εδώ και πολλά χρόνια στην δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Με τον τρόπο αυτό θα αυξηθεί το ενδιαφέρον τόσο των μαθητών όσο και των καθηγητών που σήμερα αισθάνονται την απαξίωση της προσπάθειάς τους στην τάξη. Η έρευνα μελετά τα Κοινωνικά Δίκτυα ως καινοτόμα εργαλεία διδασκαλίας που σήμερα έχουν διεισδύσει σε κάθε τομέα της καθημερινής ζωής, ιδιαίτερα σε αυτή των εφήβων. Χαρακτηριστικότερο παράδειγμα ΚΔ θεωρείται το Facebook, τις εκπαιδευτικές δυνατότητες του οποίου μπορούν να εκμεταλλευτούν καθηγητές και μαθητές. Η εργασία εστιάζει στη βιβλιογραφία που αναφέρεται στα ΚΔ και ιδιαίτερα στο Facebook με έμφαση σε ότι αφορά τη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Απαραίτητο συμπλήρωμα της εργασίας θεωρήθηκε η διεξαγωγή εμπειρικής μελέτης από την ελληνική πραγματικότητα, αφού ελήφθησαν υπόψη αντίστοιχες έρευνες σε σχολεία του εξωτερικού. Η έρευνα έγινε σε γυμνάσια και λύκεια της πόλης των Τρικάλων και εξετάζοντας τα αποτελέσματα των πρώτων προσπαθειών που έγιναν με πρωτοβουλία λίγων εκπαιδευτικών, επαληθεύει τις θεωρητικές και εμπειρικές έρευνες της βιβλιογραφίας καταλήγοντας στο συμπέρασμα ότι η ενσωμάτωση των ΚΔ στην εκπαιδευτική πρακτική της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης έχει ικανοποιητικά αποτελέσματα. Για την αποδοχή και την ευρεία χρήση των ΚΔ χρειάζεται προσπάθεια από τους καθηγητές, υποστήριξη από τη σχολική μονάδα και από τους φορείς της εκπαίδευσης που θα εφοδιάσουν τους καθηγητές με τις κατάλληλες τεχνικές και παιδαγωγικές γνώσεις , ώστε το σχολείο να κάνει το απαραίτητο άλμα προς την ψηφιακή εποχή. Πρωτίστως, απαιτείται επιστημονική έρευνα στον τομέα της εισαγωγής των διαδικτυακών εφαρμογών και ιδιαίτερα των ΚΔ στο σχολικό περιβάλλον, αφού για την ελληνική πραγματικότητα αυτή είναι σχεδόν ανύπαρκτη.
