Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to record the views of Imathia Alexandria residents in the municipal library in order to identify the information needs of the public in helping to improve the library, but also to redefine its objectives. First, place the presentation of the municipal library. Then talk about the cooperation of the library with the future library and the institution '' Stavros Niarchos'. Then, describing how the survey was conducted, involving 90 people and data collection using the questionnaire method. The questionnaires completed by users and non-users of the Municipal Library in various parts of the city. The study was conducted in October and November 2013. The data have been processed using the statistical package IBM SPSS Statistics 20.. It, however, be noted that the conclusions have contributed to improve the functioning of the Municipal Library.
